We are Haudenosaunee. We are not Canadians and we donโt celebrate Canada Day. There was a time when we thought that representing ourselves and our ideas and taking up space on Canada Day stages was a good idea. But it never felt right.

The streaming age has not been great for music communities in Canada. Our research on musicians & livelihoods found a decline in the no. of chart entries by musicians in the 2010s compared to the 90s. And the top 3 musicians command a much higher % of entries in recent years:
