The point of an abatement is not to hand out a stack of cash, it is about making the math work. Projects that can’t otherwise secure funding become feasible. Plots that either produce no revenue or in some cases act as a liability, costing the city maintenance, become productive.

Just to put this on the record: I never had trump derangement syndrome since 2016. That’s because I never liked the guy way back to 1986. So no, I’m not buying what he’s selling. I find him personally objectionable. 40 years in the making. Sorry. That’s the way it is.

The recent deaths of Brad Arnold & James Van Der Beek remind us that not everyone gets a third act. Those stories seem so incomplete, which is why we find them so sad.
LESSON: make every part of the time we have worth while. None of us are guaranteed that third act.
