Updated story on Knicks watch parties including security measures around MSG and their criticism of @nycmayor and @nypd
One thing of note — the NYPD said MSG’s watch party permit was for between 500-1K people, so NYPD didn’t restrict capacity… thecityreporter.nyc/2026/06/…
I’m in midtown now and can’t emphasize enough how full of shit Dolan was on that interview with @craigcartonlive. The only pedestrian perimeter is th one block surrounding MSG on each side. It isn’t the sam perimeter as the other night with Trump in town. All bars accessible.
When James Dolan cancels the watch party outside MSG, we bring the watch party to you.
Thanks to the @NBA, Knicks Game 4 is now playing on dozens of @LinkNYC screens across our city.
LGK.
MSG requested a permit for a watch party for 500-999 fans. We approved that permit for 999 fans.
Mr. Dolan has now decided to cancel the watch party.
I know this is breaking hearts across our city.
But if there's one thing Knicks fans don't need permission for, it's showing up for our team wherever we may be — no matter the block or the borough.
Knicks in five.
