More from my saga in researching the 1867 election. Apparently not only was it not a secret ballot, they recorded who voted for who! Wonder how many of these results books are still in existence? h/t to @vjwmaps for this discovery.

Was Fรฉlix-Antoine Hamel the first candidate in Canadian history to win 0 votes in an election? According to @DMajJourno 's pierce for CBC he is (@TristinHopper did a piece as well). But I'm not so sure that's the case. I always remembered seeing results to the contrary... (1/?)
