Wink if they hold you hostage for making Zcash.

If that were the explanation, then 1-to-1 chats and small group chats would be encrypted. Here’s another possible explanation: Durov is a liar who is *not* in favor of free speech. He’s in favor of himself having control over his users’ speech, which he sold to Putin, and Macron now wants.

When Russia tried to block Telegram, there was a lot of whining from all sorts of turbo-diesel democrats (see the screenshot). Who among them has already spoken out against Durov's arrest in democratic France? @EFF, I thought at least you'd have the balls to say something.

POV: you leave totalitarian Russia for the free and democratic "garden" just to be arrested and face 20 years in prison for allowing free speech to exist. The most hardcore Westoid defenders of these freedoms will find excuses to still be delusional about these freedoms still actually existing in the West and will always find a way to smear Russia in this regard and joke about people "falling out of the windows" for expressing themselves. These same people called Julian Assange a criminal, and will find a way to besmirch Pavel Durov and exculpate his arrest on trumped up charges as well.

Pavel Durov left Russia when the government tried to control his social media company, Telegram. But in the end, it wasn’t Putin who arrested him for allowing the public to exercise free speech. It was a western country, a Biden administration ally and enthusiastic NATO member, that locked him away. Pavel Durov sits in a French jail tonight, a living warning to any platform owner who refuses to censor the truth at the behest of governments and intel agencies. Darkness is descending fast on the formerly free world. Here’s our interview with Durov from several months ago:
Ep. 94 The social media app Telegram has over 900 million users around the world. Its founder Pavel Durov sat down with us at his offices in Dubai for his first on-camera interview in almost a decade.

It seems like DAGs are better pound-for-pound than blockchains in most criteria. Why aren't they more widely adopted today?

Yeltsin did one redeeming thing when he resigned: he came forward with a speech in which he apologized. And it was sincere and heartfelt. In the US, things seem to be much worse. Biden has tweeted.

A reminder that the current digital outage is brought to you by #Crowdstrike , the digital scammers behind the #Russiagate hoax. Their fraud contributed to Julian Assange rotting in prison for 5 years, and the demented US escalation against Russia which sparked the Ukraine war.

I rode Moscow Metro quite a few times with my bag open. Not once did anything get stolen. It's this what indicates civilization and not inflated GDP figures.
As much as I like to brag about how nice and safe Romania is compared to most of the rest of the world, at the same time, I don't want people finding out this reality since eventually they will come here and ruin it.

I miss local applications being done using... native OS components.
The Edge browser team is abandoning React (the browser UI is done on web technologies) and now their UI is getting 40% faster. I’ve been saying for a long time that modern frameworks have advanced a lot relative to React with its slow VDom. theverge.com/2024/5/28/24166…

Doesn't matter HOW you shed kilos. As long as you do, you're a winner - obesity is #1 risk factor for everything (and kills you sooner) anyway.
For the anti Ozempic crowd: A person has been dieting for 10 years and hasn’t been successful. Tried many diets, goes to gym, etc We all know that person. The “always dieting” They haven’t succeeded Do you want them to continue to try (and fail) for another 10 years, end up 280 lbs with diabetes and fatty liver OR use medications to assist?
