Replying to @cwmission
@Joerg_Rieger and George Schmidt travelled to Zimbabwe to attend and present at DARE! They are connecting with our international partners and presenting on “How Liberation Theologies Can Liberate Again” Joerg stated, "[I'm] grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with so many international scholars." We hope to showcase these connections and relationships in our Solidarity Circles as we develop them on an international scale, rather than solely limited to our United States audience. As described on the Council for World Mission's website, "The fifth Discernment and Radical Engagement (DARE) Global Forum commenced on 27 January in Harare, Zimbabwe. The first DARE forum to take place in Africa brings together 130 participants under the theme “Aftermath: Beyond Liberation,” to explore and transform theological paradigms inspired by liberation theology, addressing biases, traditions, and responsibilities."

Had a wonderful time at the first Scopes Festival event - American Religious Landscape During the Scopes Trial! Drs. @JamesPByrd & Hudnut-Beumler gave great recaps of prevailing religious thoughts of the early 1900s. @DialogueVU. #Evolution #Fundamentalism

I wrote this column months ago. I didn't have a clue how much I would need to hear these words that were published this week. Unpredictable life...but a sure, steady, and certain God. @VUDivinity
“These years helped me to distill an important truth to its very essence: the unpredictability of life is bearable because we serve a sure, steady, and certain God.” – @YNPierce christiancentury.org/voices/…

In my latest essay for @ChristianCent, I write about how for those you love, the sound of your voice speaks volumes.
“I couldn’t help but reflect on the human and spiritual value of something as simple as a phone call to or from home—those small gestures of connection that remind you that you are not alone in this world.” – @YNPierce christiancentury.org/voices/…

My travel schedule is determined well in advance, often by others. But every once in a while, the Holy Spirit has me at the perfect place at the perfect time. Grateful to be at the Womanist Inkwell on this historic occasion. Food for my soul for the hard work ahead.

Just learned of the death of theologian Jürgen Moltmann. He was a towering theological figure whose "Theology of Hope" and "The Crucified God" remain standards in the field. 98 years of age at his death. A life well-lived. #JurgenMoltmann

With gratitude for the mothers, aunties, godmothers, and “other mothers” for their love and guidance. You all are a treasure beyond compare. With special prayers for motherless children and motherless mothers everywhere. God sees us and knows.
