Check out the train arrivals for Civic Center Station (a half hour before ATL's first World Cup game). Trains are arriving every 2-4 minutes! It's a good reminder: if MARTA had more funding for operations, they could boost arrival times regularly. Also: the new MARTA app is nice!

“Garden” apartments that are just extremely long parking lots are suburban sprawl and ATL is full of those. Worst of both worlds. Unwalkable density.

The most eye-opening part of traveling is seeing how other countries have just as much traffic as the U.S. but don't turn their streets into excessively wide and fast highways that kill thousands of people every year. Except for a few exceptions, the traffic engineering profession is resistant to change.

Liberals are worried that Musk might use his “extreme concentration of wealth” to do what exactly? Explore space? Electrify automobile transportation? Advance free speech on digital platforms? What’s the threat here?

Atlanta abandoning the Bankhead Bridge was a form of symbolism that cannot possibly be matched in terms of explaining the history of the Westside

We need a “Not interested, this is AI” button or a proper AI blocker. The algorithm needs to learn how badly most people don’t want AI slop.

Taxing AI at a huge % is absolutely the right thing to do because AI has huge negative externalities that need to be corrected and AI use needs to be disincentivized
‘Taxing AI’ won’t protect our water or air. It will however give Dems a way to make it seem like they’re doing something about the outcries, without doing anything drastic. ‘Get a cut of your own destruction’ has always been a terrible offer and it’s time we reject it with fury

That's slavery. 24 people in Georgia were indicted for enslaving Latin Americans. Americans have slaves in the 21st century.
24 people in Georgia were indicted for allegedly smuggling 100 migrants from Mexico and Central America and forcing them to work at gunpoint. Victims were forced to dig for onions by hand, with little food and reports of rape. At least 2 died. Suspects made $200M in the scheme.
