It's kind of wild Sandy city council is potentially looking at cutting their mayor's salary mid term. Kind of petty and unnecessary if you ask me but we'll see what happens. Also on the stupid side is some of their council trying to take them out of the Central Wasatch Commission

Stuff like this chart is mind boggling. Thank you for pushing for additional beds and services. We're a rapidly growing state with more needs than before. Its expensive either way, investing in this essential service now will save UT more in the long term.

The short answer is our laws are strong, but we (as most states in the US) need more inpatient treatment beds particularly in our state hospital.
As you can see as our population has grown, our inpatient mental health beds have decreased.

Ah this makes more sense now why there seems to be a coordinated attack on their organization. Maybe expanding their board is a semi fair ask.
The Otherside Academy has had the same 3 people on it's Board of Directors since they were created 11 years ago. Before allowing TOSA to begin Phase 2 of the Otherside Village @slcCouncil and @slcmayor should ask for the Board to be expanded and for the right ro appoint a member

If SLC wanted a board seat it would have made more sense for them to do that in the beginning of their damn project where they lease for a dollar a ton of valuable acreage.

I read two different hit pieces on the Otherside Academy today. I think some of their leaders haven't done themselves any favors with their messaging and tone but this seems somewhat coordinated and way overblown too. They're not perfect but they seem to be doing good work to me.

"Oh they work for free", I guess we're going to just not talk about the countless families that have spent fortunes on other treatment options etc. I knew a girl that went to multiple rehab facilities only to unfortunately OD, we don't really talk about those stories enough.

Looks like Hive Pass is dead for several UTA riders. SLC plans to continue funding free passes for K-12 students while it explores potential new solutions for transit riding
