Management is more than an organisational function. It is a vital capability for all institutions & the foundation of societal progress. The Peter Drucker Society has launched an initiative called "Next Management" โ€“ a call to action to reframe management for the disruptive challenges ahead. It sets out seven shifts to enable management to act as a stronger force for good for individuals, organisations & society as a whole: globalfocusmagazine.com/the-โ€ฆ. Via @rstraub46. Guess we will never know.
This is absolutely incomprehensible. What are they doing? I don't get it. Sure he looks like he's on the way out but he could have been up there tomorrow for sure.

Former Conservative MP (UK) Rory Stewart's TED Talk on how basic income reduces poverty and grows the economy. "For $1 delivered into a community, there was $2.50 of benefit to the surrounding villagesโ€”it was fiscal stimulus."

The attitude that helps most with intense stress is not mindfulness. Itโ€™s hope. In hard times, itโ€™s overwhelming to live only in the present. What brings strength is anticipating a brighter future. Resilience lies in remembering that today's burdens may be lighter tomorrow.

Struck by the number of places looking to reimagine place-based collaboration & accompanying #governance arrangements - which requires a total reimagining of what this governance is & does. Places embracing #missions & #citygoals, looking to mobilise x-sector action & commitment

How many people does it take to change an organisation, system or culture? In his book "Change, How to Make Big Things Happen", @DamonCentola shows how change became inevitable when 25% of the people were on the side of making the shift - a โ€œcommitted minority groupโ€ driving the change. But how do we get to 25%? Three strategies: 1) Use "non violent" change processes: where people can come into the change, make it their own, be part of a co-creative process & see/feel their stamp on the change. 2) Adopt the "Active, Sustained 3.5% Rule": a much smaller group actively engaged at the heart of the change, sustained over time. 3) Adopt the "Law of One Person and One Step": where we donโ€™t need to train everybody, but instead, coach a small group of people to create a non-violent resistance to the old ways of working & bring new ways in. danielstillman.com/blog/miniโ€ฆ.
