Tech allowed me, an immigrant from a third world country with parents who didn’t make it beyond third grade, to rise to leadership positions at top companies. If you’re a minority in tech, don’t give up, and know that there is a vast community online ready to help!

People think frontend is ‘easy’ because they’re stuck in the days when JavaScript was just for form checks. Now it’s complex state, micro-frontends, React/Vue, performance tuning, and full app logic. It’s basically full-stack now—more than just ‘making it pretty.’ #webdev

Learn the fundamentals! So many libraries and hype out there, but at the end of the day, if you know the fundamentals, you can work with any of the tools available.

🌶️ take: Dependency arrays in React are evil They are brittle, hard to debug, and a code smell There are better options: /1

Great advice from @kelseyhightower. Our reputations follow us, and scaling it to influence and help a broader audience means building a solid brand.

I started coding at 13. After playing the Sims, I saw it was possible to take anything from our imagination and turn it into reality. GPT-3 and advancements in AI reinforces the notion that technology lowers the barrier to execute on our ideas.

Just realized how genius OpenAI's decision to make ChatGPT present output line-by-line was. It's a form of rate limiting. It gets annoying after a while but it's a better option than sudden rate limit errors #chatbot #OpenAI

Being a healthy engineer has helped me do better at work. Here are some things that I do that may help you: 1. Get an ergonomic keyboard and mouse 2. Get an ergonomic chair

5. Exercise at least twice a week. Group classes or a personal trainer are great if you struggle with consistency. 6. Pay attention to your mental health, and if you can get a therapist, the ROI is incredible. It takes many months to see the long-term gains.
