itās time to #StopAsianHate and protect the #AAPI communities
In a four-year project funded by @NSFās Designing Materials to Revolutionize and Engineer our Future program, @UWMadCBEās @whitneysloo will lead an effort to develop photoresists compatible with new lithography methods used in computer-chip production.

Two days, two manuscripts online! Happy to share this work pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.102⦠led by former postdoc Shawn. We continue to explore the 'polymer of squares' with @ChirikGroup, now examining property changes due to hydrogenation and isomerization of the backbone!
Another paper out! science.org/doi/10.1126/scia⦠Postdoc Clement took on a big challenge - to synthesize monodisperse liquid crystalline oligomers. These molecules also crystallize, with curvature that (surprising to us!) depends on length. We dug in to try to figure out 'why'!
check out this interview with one of our amazing undergrad researchers, Aidiel! Aidiel will graduate from @UWMadEngr in August and start his PhD in ChemE at @UMNews this fall. We are so proud of Aidiel in the Loo Lab!

ALT AIChE Annual Meeting - Polymer Structural Characterization: This session invites submissions on characterizing polymer structure and organization at multiple length scales from micro- to meso-scale. This session includes studies leveraging experimental scattering, spectroscopy, and microscopy techniques, including those with significant computational and theoretical components or complementary dynamic or mechanical measurements. All application areas are welcome, though we especially encourage submissions for systems relevant to organic electronics or photonics, and ionic or mixed conductors. Contributions addressing all phases and geometries of polymers are welcome, including bulk and confined solutions, melts, and gels. ***Note to faculty candidates: please include a note to the session chair during submission to alert them to your status***
well, thatās a wrap on #APSSummit25! four oral presentations and one poster presentation from the Loo Lab. I couldnāt not be prouder of my students š„°
thanks for the shirts @APS_DPOLY!
I decided to check out a new platform (š¦), so you can find me there under the same handle. not sure how long I'll stick around the bird site. there's just something about watching a sinking ship... #chemsky#chemtwitter
Polymers can be difficult to break down for reuse because theyāre so large and sometimes complex. @UWMadCBEās @whitneysloo is looking at new ways to design and reuse polymers for a sustainable future.
