Under the Inclusive Refugee Response Programme (
#IRRP), partners gathered not just to review progress but to reflect on transformation.

@denmarkinkenya convened for the Institutional Capacity Development Project (ICDP) Progress Review Meeting under IRRP.
The conversation traced a clear journey of growth. Through targeted capacity strengthening, County Assembly of Turkana Health, Water, and Education Committees are now better equipped to integrate refugee issues into their oversight roles, legislative discussions, and policy review processes.
#RefugeeInclusion is steadily shifting from an external agenda to an institutional priority embedded within county governance systems.
Partners highlighted key milestones improved coordination among county actors, more structured engagement platforms, and strengthened accountability mechanisms that seek to include both refugees and host communities are considered in planning and service delivery. The review also provided space to assess lessons learned and chart the way forward focusing on sustainability, institutional ownership, and consolidating gains achieved so far.
Under
#IRRP, this is more than capacity development. It is about building resilient institutions that uphold inclusion, accountability, and responsive governance for all.
This engagement reaffirmed a shared commitment to building responsive institutions, strengthening governance systems, and ensuring refugees are meaningfully included in development planning and service delivery.
