Very well put Richard …
Replying to @haynesdeborah
As I’ve just stated elsewhere: “A decisive cut in the Defence Investment Budget by the Starmer government has been expected for some time. The only thing that needs to be revealed is the scale of that cut, the creative accounting tricks (watch out for the defence housing investment being included) and the (many) conditions that will apply to the capital allocated to procurement. What is also expected is nothing but fawning compliance from CDS and the career-obsessed Defence “Chiefs”, who will say that the technological revolution in military affairs means that they can do more, achieve more lethality, with less money and less people…. Oh….and expect no change to the Human Rights riddled legal basis for UK military operations and the conveyor belt of veteran abuse by a truly careless government…”

Have they got any beds in there ? Once he starts one of his ‘stories’, guests will need them …..trust me !! (But he was one of the best, never backed off and you knew he always had your back. Loved him. Still do)

Made it my life’s mission to become the Taliban’s worst nightmare: A highly educated Afghan woman. First, Columbia University at the top of my class, and now Oxford University. Give Afghan girls one chance and see what they can achieve.

Great words Peter
Shocking news. Scott Hastings belonged to a very special breed, a great player and even greater person. A Grand Slammer with Scotland in 1990, a double Lion, he had that priceless gift of making everyone all the better for having known him. My sympathy to Scott's family-friends

Stunned to hear this. One of the great Scottish players and such a good man to be around. Tragic that he has gone. Unbelievably sad
Scottish Rugby is immensely saddened to learn of the death earlier today of former Scotland and British & Irish Lions centre, Scott Hastings. He was 61.

Watching Bath V Bordeaux - can’t believe the TMO has been so quiet on any decisions that could be in Bath’s favour !! Quite incredible !

Thankyou @Katie_Lam_MP for describing so clearly the way that the executive leadership of @UKLabour is hardwired to ensure the continued “persecution by process” of our country’s soldiers.
Lord Hermer is Keir Starmer's most senior legal adviser. He worked with a convicted fraudster to drag British soldiers through the courts over false claims. Now, he wants to let activist lawyers do the same to veterans who served in Northern Ireland.

Here is one man England should pay whatever it takes to get back. He goes to France, to their best club side - and they make him captain. That takes some doing - especially for an Englishman!! Tells you so much about the calibre of the player and the man !!
Speaking on the For The Love Of Rugby podcast, Willis said: "I have grown as a person and as a player, I think I could offer more now." ☮️

This article is so true. If he had shown the character to do what he knows is right - so many of us would admire his stand and follow him. Am I alone in longing for politicians - across the board - that will do the right thing, and not the career move.. open.substack.com/pub/gawain…

In years to come, I am convinced the country will look upon veterans hounded into old age by the Government’s unchecked and despicable lawfare much as it now regards shell-shocked soldiers executed by firing squad in the First World War: loyal servants sacrificed by political expediency and moral blindness

What was long suspected is now proven. Attorney General Hermer has been part of a group of ideologically-motivated, government-embedded, Human Rights lawyers that have acted in a vexatious and biased way to persecute British soldiers, not because they broke the law, but to serve some twisted anti-military, anti-British agenda. They, their greed (the made a lot of money doing it), and their crippling ideology, have deliberately misapplied the 1988 UK Human Rights Act to British military operations in ways that not only create a never-ending conveyor belt of Veteran persecutions but also fundamentally undermine Britain’s ability to wage war and thereby defend itself. For the love of Country, he must step down.
No, it stands for English civilisation winning. You stand for putting treacherous lawyers who collaborate with criminals in charge of lawfare against the SAS. A future regime will jail your mate Hermer and RICO through your network RETWEET IF AGREE

Soldiers from 22 SAS are resigning in significant numbers. At least two squadrons, D and G, have been affected. The reason given by insiders is fear of legal action for decisions made on operations. This story deserves more than a headline.

If you read one post on here today, make it this one …
A final piece of advice from Holly Butcher - written the day before she passed away from cancer at just 27: “It’s a strange thing knowing you’re going to die young. At 26, I thought I had time… To fall in love. Start a family. Grow old. But cancer doesn’t care about plans. Now, I understand how fragile life really is. Every single day is a gift, not a guarantee. I’m not writing this to scare you. I’m writing to remind you: really live. Stop stressing over little things. Be kind to your body- move it, nourish it, stop criticizing it. One day you’ll wish you had appreciated it. Go outside. Look at the sky. Feel the sun. Just be. Spend less time chasing “stuff” - more time making memories. Don’t skip moments with people you love. Laugh more. Write a note. Tell someone you love them. Complain less. Give more. Helping others brings more joy than anything you can buy. Be present. Put your phone down. Show up - really show up. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need a perfect body, or a perfect life. Just follow what makes your heart light up. Say no to what drains you. Make changes when you need to. And please - donate blood. I wouldn’t have had that extra year without it. And that year gave me memories I’ll hold close… forever. Thank you for reading this. Live your life well. And maybe… we’ll meet again someday.” Holly 🩷 Repost & share Holly’s important advice. ❤️
