Our primary care POCUS DVT pathway is published!
-evaluated 80 patients—DVT diagnosed in 5% (4/80); ED visits were potentially avoided for 46% (37/80), with estimated cost savings of ~$85,100. Shows feasibility of in-clinic DVT diagnosis.

2/2 Clinician feedback (98% response): most agreed the pathway improved patient safety & access, reduced cognitive burden, and cut ED referrals. Model is feasible, acceptable, and may help relieve ED strain—warrants broader implementation studies.

- out of 62 patients, 2 proximal DVT treated, 2 distal found on follow up imaging within 1 week
- out of 60 patients, 0 had a VTE diagnosis, 3 months after the scan.
-48% potentially avoidable ED visit = cost savings

- Providers strongly agreed that:
(1) the POCUS DVT clinic improved patient safety & access
(2) When evaluating a borderline DVT concern, the POCUS DVT clinic reduced the clinician's cognitive burden
(3) Without the POCUS DVT clinic, (I) would have sent the patient to the ED
