I think there's a good chance Claire loses mostly because of how much the campaign is spamming their lists with donation requests and other shit i'm not reading. I actually don't think a a majority aren't winning, I have 35% win rate this year.

all of this is basically correct except OP doesn't even try to prove their claim at the end that progressive/socialist candidates won't shrink the gap between education/wealth/sovereignty of the haves and have-nots. zohran's policies and stats disprove her on an empirical basis.

Since roughly 2010 a large migration of predominately white, middle class, suburban college educated types have descended into urban cities that were cleaned up btw 1994-2010 by reform moderates like Giuliani. Without knowing it, they inherited a safer and more prosperous city. Many from this cohort use their DSA/lefty politics and canvass for these POC candidates as a way to rationalize their presence in the cities and believe that this kind of politics can correct the inherent asymmetry between their smart little NPR life and the Puerto Rican teens selling weed and pressed pills down the street. Alas, their savior politics actually makes things worse for these people.

Reynoso , at least shows cognizance of his black and underserved constituents, something which Claire doesn’t even hide . I will be voting for him as soon as the ballot centers open , and influencing hundreds of voters to do same .

This corageous rejection aside, abolition has been a core Marxist demand since Marx and Engels.
I'm not one to police who is or is not a Marxist but this comment shows a pretty deep ignorance of Socialist history.

The merits of defund/abolish aside, I simply reject the premise that opposing cops and prisons is this intractable part of socialism that we should or should not compromise on. All the way up until like 2019 the dominant Marxist stance on policing was one of relative neutrality.
