Sol’s model was motivated by the real biology of Caenorhabditis becei, which lives in habitat patches (fallen fruit) on BCI, Panama, and has female-biased sex ratios achieved through superior competitive ability of X-bearing sperm. We suspect pat-effect sex ratios are common.
