WP Remote is a web app to help you track all your WordPress sites. Core, Plugin and Theme updates with a single click, manual/automatic backups and much more.
Before blaming plugins or “repairing” the database, check wp-config.php against what your host has on file.
This is one of the first things that goes wrong after a migration or host change.
One copied credential, one wrong character, and boom.
If wp-config.php checks out, the issue may be with the database server, not your WordPress files.
Shared hosting during a traffic spike, MySQL overload, server maintenance, or refused connections can all cause the same error.
Ask your host before changing five things at once.
“Error establishing a database connection” is one of the scariest-looking errors in WordPress.
But it doesn’t mean your data is gone.
It usually means WordPress can’t currently talk to the database.
Scary message, often a much smaller problem.
