I can't believe how fun building a company is right now is. The weird part is it doesn't feel like work anymore. New AI models/tools/repos keep coming out making the impossible possible. My ONLY anxiety is making sure I don't waste this precious moment and keeping up with the updates of all the new tools/AI models. AI is creating the greatest platform shift of all time. And, I've learned to never let a good platform shift go to waste. I was living in Silicon Valley around for the mobile era. I remember the feeling of "you can just build an app and put it in the store and people find it." That lasted maybe 4 years before the gold rush ended and distribution got hard. I'm getting that same feeling right now but bigger. The difference is I'm older, I know what a window looks like, and I know they close. I love building right now. Maybe you do too. Trying not to take it for granted. I'm excited for Monday. Can't wait. My partners and I are up at midnight most nights now sending each other screenshots saying "look what this can do." Nobody asks anyone to do this. We just can't stop. Something drops, someone builds something with it in 2 hours, and the group chat goes off. It feels like we're getting away with something. Some of the greatest companies of the next decade will be started in 2026. I'm sure of it. And it'll be fun. I feel like a kid again. Genuinely giddy.

wow—and no jailbreak needed!
Today Instagram had this massive exploit where hackers were just stealing rare handles left and right. Hundreds of accounts gone. People losing handles they’ve owned since 2010, some worth hundreds of thousands. I own a few rare ones so I was actually stressed watching this happen in real time, which I haven’t been in years. Obama White House account got hit. These aren’t some random new accounts, these are verified, locked down accounts and they still got compromised. The thing is the exploit is so simple it’s almost funny. Attacker goes to Forgot Password, says their account is hacked, turns on a VPN to match the target’s location (which now you can find on the about section of the page). Instagram’s AI support flow asks them to verify with a selfie. They grab a photo from the target’s profile, run it through an AI video generator to make an animation of the person’s face moving around, upload that to Meta’s AI as proof. And Meta’s AI just accepts it because it can’t tell the difference between a real selfie and an AI-generated video of someone’s face . Once verified they change the email to theirs. Password reset link goes to their email. They own it now. 2FA gets bypassed somehow in the process but honestly I don’t know exactly how, just that it did. Point is even locked down accounts went down. Then you try to recover your account and you’re talking to a chatbot that has zero ability to help. You can’t escalate to a human. You’re just stuck. Your asset is gone and there’s no one to call. The whole thing just highlighted how stupid it is to automate account security without any human in the loop. One AI fooling another AI while there’s literally no person anywhere to catch it. Meta took hours to even acknowledge it while accounts were getting stolen every minute. Now thankfully it’s patched but I don’t think it will be the last one. Stay safe!

This is fun - how about you send all your data to get data back? The intern’s guilty expression haha. Finally agentic infrastructure for - governance - permissioning - tool access - connectivity - auditability - enterprise security - framework agnostic We're all past the time of just building new agents. It’s now about making agents usable, secure, and scalable. Plus nice touch with the 10k campaign. Anyone trying that with Jeanelle's agent?

The loudest take online is that Hollywood hates AI. I just spent a day with the filmmakers, execs, and studios actually using it - and the mood was the opposite. We've hit a tipping point for AI getting used in real projects. My takeaways on why the industry is shifting:

This guy has five million AI agents tracking everything publicly available about three billion people! He spent half a million bucks doing that. Be scared? Or be educated? @michaelfanous1 runs nyne.ai/ and I have a lengthy conversation about what he's doing and why it could lead to a new kind of social network.

I had a chance to look at this before the release. My favorite part is that this might be resembling a human's growth. Always learning. Always improving. For now my only question is about the autoresearch comparison to Karpathy's work. Not fully sure if it's statistically significant. I'd be curious if SIA can take in other frameworks or workflows to beat its own benchmarks even further (as opposed to competing with other models or layers). Taking a look further especially since it's open- source.
Superintelligence will be built on Self Improvement. Today @hexoai, we’re excited to release ā€˜SIA’ - an open-source Self-Improving AI, to achieve any goal through recursive self improvement. While trying to solve a problem, SIA doesn't just improve it's abilities by updating it's harness, it updates it's own weights as well.

Unpopular opinion with Tesla fans: I expect @Tesla_Optimus to slip into next year and maybe even 2028. Maybe even further. And I am talking about the big version 3 unveil that Elon was hyping up over the last year. Tesla execs watched Apple and Google growing up. Steve Jobs’ magic? Wait for everyone to make their plays. Think they have the market sewn up. Then fix all the problems and ship a better product. Jobs killed the phone project several times because it wasn’t good enough. I have talked to enough people who are Tesla fans that I know expectations are super high. If Elon shows a robot that isn’t generalized a lot will be lost. Ask AltaVista or Nokia how that worked out. Or MySpace. Being first doesn’t really matter. Kodak invented the digital camera. Truth is the pieces aren’t all there yet to make a great product, either inside, or outside Tesla. Even the Chinese haven’t figured it out. The world models aren’t ready yet. I won’t be shocked if @elonmusk keeps delaying it until true generalized world models are ready. Even the most aggressive I have talked to say that is at least 18 months away. Many in robotics say five years. The next time we see a new Optimus it will set in place beliefs that will last a decade. Wait until it is stunning, I say. But the factories are being built so pressure is on. We we see how much discipline Tesla has by its choices.
