Beware the empathy exploit.
Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow).
For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.

There's an unfortunate game theory to a large civilization in that it requires hard work, ethical behavior, and deferral of gratification to build. But then eventually people start to forget that and think "why would I work hard when theres all this stuff here already? I should just be hedonistic". Slowly, the civilization starts to decay causing it to take care of people less, which causes more people to defect ("why should I take care of a system that doesn't care for me? Especially when there's so much fun to be had by neglecting it"), until eventually it collapses because everyone has defected.

Huh, wasn't expecting this post to get as much traction as it did.
I think it's important to point out that regardless of blue always getting the majority in these polls, red can never "lose" regardless of how the vote goes.
In my opinion however, what this poll really demonstrates is how democracy breeds authoritarianism via collectivist ideologies that leverage the altruistic tendencies of people by goading them into ignoring basic logic and reason in favor of emotion and the collective to "survive", which is ultimately used to justify the erosion and removal of individual rights and freedoms.

Only one chance in this lifetime…
Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him.
I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

In China, an 80-year-old mother regularly video calls her son, unaware he died in a traffic accident early last year.
Her family chose not to tell her to protect her heart condition and hired AI developer Zhang Zewei to create a digital twin using photos, videos, and voice recordings of the son.
The AI now calls her almost daily, pretending he is working in another city.
In one conversation, the mother tells him:
“You should call me more often so that I know whether you live well or not in another city. I am missing you so much. I feel so sorry that I cannot see you in person.”
The AI son replies:
“OK, mum. But I am too busy. I cannot talk to you for long. You take care of yourself. When I have made enough money, I will return home to pay my filial piety to you.”
