The open house for the San Diego California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began on Monday, June 15, 2026, with a media day for journalists and invited guests. The end of an era. ✈️ Today, SLC officially decommissioned Runway 14/32 after nearly 89 years of service. Originally commissioned in 1937, the runway was rarely used in recent years and was not suitable for commercial airline operations. Retiring the runway improves airfield safety by eliminating operational hotspots while maintaining efficient operations on SLC's three remaining runways: left, center and right. Thank you for the memories, Runway 14/32.
