Remembrance Day is an important reminder of the values of freedom and independence as a nation or an individual. Freedom is at the heart of the human experience. So today, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our way of life.

The world has had more than 70 years of relative peace and stability, primarily due to the United States championing the rule of law and respect for borders and intellectual property. Unfortunately, this has caused many people in wealthy nations, particularly young people, to take democracy and the North American way of life for granted.
One need only look to Ukraine to see that peace and prosperity are by no means assured. One minute Ukrainians were shopping at Gucci and chatting on their iPhones, and the next minute they were wandering around the rubble that used to be their City.
We are all beneficiaries of the atrocities of History and, therefore, owe a debt for our privileged lives. I believe the best way to honour the sacrifices of the past is to live a life of meaning and fulfilment, to strive to be a better person than you were in every way possible.
To be a Modern Samurai is to live a life of honour that challenges you, excites you and forces you to grow. Cultivate a mindset of contribution, community and service to others for the betterment of the individual, the community, the nation, and the world.
This is the paradigm we encourage the world to embrace and forms the philosophical foundation of Digital Samurai.
On this Remembrance Day, we look forward to the future. We encourage the celebration of new definitions of work, success and courage as we support African apprentices that exemplify these qualities in new ways.
All races, genders, cultures, every individual, all interconnected, all of us one.
