Burnham gets his honeymoon ie he’s not Starmer. UC rising to £95bn, sickness benefits £20bn ⬆️ pre-Covid, defence hollowed out, gilt markets watching. He has months before the same intractable arithmetic devours him too. Different emperor. Same nudity. 🏊 thetimes.com/article/eccefdc…

Are there two brothers who’ve both made first class centuries at a younger age than Thomas and James?
Serious question.. How long would you wait to get him in England team? Some players are extra special & he clearly is He will play for England this summer IMO

Prof Hamnett nails it. Labour’s case against North Sea drilling, “it won’t lower bills” is intellectually bankrupt. Energy security. FX savings. < carbon miles. £4.5bn tax revenue. These are the arguments. Where’s the rebuttal? There isn’t one. Just ideology dressed as policy. 🛢️

Great, so you're cutting the mandatory market share of electric vehicle sales from 80% in 2030, to 50%. Now go all the way and scrap the state imposed market share altogether. Let businesses and consumers flourish, unimpeded by Socialist ideology. thetimes.com/uk/transport/ar…

A huge landmark for Thomas and his family. 🙌🏻 Another family whose garden has probably paid a terrible price in wrecked flower beds and broken windows for many years I’d bet. #sccc
Thomas Rew becomes Somerset's fourth-youngest first-class centurion

Unbelievable 🫣
Just when you thought Labour couldn’t get any more delusional, Lisa Nandy struts up and smashes the record. Sky News’ Wilfred Frost calmly points out the obvious: UK forces have just boarded one Russian shadow fleet tanker (out of 700 operating) in 2026. The war started in 2022. Four years. One ship. Nandy’s response is legitimately unhinged: “Yeah, but I think that shows the seriousness with which we’re taking this because it’s not easy to do. We’ve been determined to do it because cutting off the funding for the action in Ukraine is one of the central ways that we will make sure that Ukraine wins the war.” One tanker in four years = “seriousness” 😂🙃 This single glorified photo-op is apparently going to cripple Putin’s war machine, bankrupt Russia, and single-handedly deliver victory for Ukraine. I don’t even know what to say anymore. She’s completely lost the plot. The entire Labour government has. Every time you think they’ve hit rock bottom on delusion and incompetence, they find a new low and proudly announce it on national television. Absolutely staggering.

After Japan battled the Netherlands to a 2-2 draw, the Japanese fans stayed behind and cleaned up every single piece of trash from their section at Dallas Stadium after the game. You LOVE to see it 🇯🇵

.@BernieSanders , it is a time to celebrate. @elonmusk has created enormous value for society by building @SpaceX, driving down the cost of rocket launches and creating a global satellite communication network that has brought high speed, low-cost internet and communication access to hundreds of millions and eventually billions of people along with critical advantages for our military and our nation’s defense. SpaceX and its technologies will cause an acceleration in the growth of wages and wealth creation globally, including in some of the poorest communities in the U.S. and around the world. Access to low-cost, high speed communications everywhere will allow children around the world to be educated, families to build businesses, and life-saving medical knowledge and care to be available everywhere. SpaceX will materially bring down the cost of compute, advancing AI and humanity. Meanwhile, 4,000 SpaceX employees yesterday became millionaires, including hourly wage employees who you claim you are trying to help. The Elon Musks of the world drive growth, global GDP, and provide access to goods and services at lower cost that would otherwise not exist. Elon’s nominal trillionaire status is due to his ownership of SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, the Boring Company and his other initiatives that have brought new technologies that improve our everyday lives. Elon is not sitting on a trillion dollar pile of cash, jewelry and gold. He is using his controlling stakes in his companies to advance mankind. Elon’s companies don’t pay dividends. They reinvest all of their capital to accelerate innovation and value creation. Elon is working 24/7 for all of us. He deserves respect and appreciation, not smears. Bernie, your socialism would never allow a SpaceX to be built. Socialism has only proven to impoverish mankind and lead to death and destruction. We need to create the conditions for more SpaceXs to be built, not attack the great entrepreneurs who are helping to advance our country.

Morgan Freeman: "I'm a huge fan of Elon Musk. I think he's got the most incredibly forward-thinking ideas about where we can go technologically. What he's done, nobody else has ever done."

America is building rockets that can go to Mars and is taking AI to new levels. Meanwhile, in Britain, our Government is banning underfloor heating and wants to regulate our use of towel rails. I despair for our future under these student socialist imbeciles.

🚨 WHEN FORMER SPY CHIEFS MI6 START WARNING THE COUNTRY, PEOPLE LISTEN Sir Richard Dearlove did not mince his words. Britain, he says, is being governed by a "bunch of students" who fail to grasp the dangers facing the world. His concern is not party politics. It is national security. And when a former head of MI6 openly questions whether the government understands the scale of the threats ahead, that should concern everyone. Because intelligence chiefs rarely speak this bluntly unless they believe something has gone badly wrong. @TVKev

Healey and Carns resigned because Rachel Reeves won't admit the choice: either defend the realm or expand welfare. Not both. Starmer's "3.5pc of GDP" on defence is a deceit that everyone pretended to believe. The pretence just ended. My thoughts:- comment.press/healey

.@ScottJenningsKY just torched the liberal meltdown over Elon becoming the world's first trillionaire: “All day long, I've been listening to liberals, count and spend Elon's money for him. This envy, jealousy, hatred of success. Why is it immoral? Why is it wrong for somebody in our system, our capitalist system, in the greatest nation on earth, to go out and build a company, build companies, build technologies, go into space, aim to go put a colony on Mars, give internet to half the world, all the things he's doing? Why is any of this wrong or bad? Why would we want to discourage entrepreneurship? Why would we want to discourage anybody building anything?” Exactly. Success isn't a crime.

Elon just created 4,400 millionaires in a single day. 400 of them are now worth over $100 million. These aren't VCs. They're SpaceX employees, and the list includes welders, technicians, and cafeteria staff, because for two decades the company paid every level of the workforce in stock instead of higher salaries. Juan Hernandez immigrated from Mexico and took a $28 an hour contractor welding job in 2015. He says he didn't even know what SpaceX was. The company gave him a $10,000 equity grant and let him buy more shares through payroll deductions. That stake is now worth $880,000. Trevor Hise's parents wanted him to take a stable job at General Electric. He picked SpaceX instead, stayed 12 years, and accumulated over 100,000 shares. At the $135 listing price that's $13.5 million. He's 37 and semiretired. His words: "The magnitude of this has been ridiculous." The most telling detail came before the listing. Over 100 employees quietly banded together and negotiated a group wealth management deal covering up to $5 billion, because none of them had ever needed a wealth manager before. Software IPOs have minted millionaires for 30 years. This is the first one where the money went to the factory floor.

If you took $1 Trillion from Elon (assuming it was cash), it would run the U.S. government for 49 days. Not even 2 months. The U.S. doesn't have a billionaire/trillionaire problem, it has a spending problem.

The next war won't be won by armies, navies or air forces alone. It'll be won by the country whose 19 year olds can code, whose factories can build drones in weeks not years, and whose grid stays on when someone tries to switch it off. Industry. Society. Economy. That's the fight now. We're not ready. And we're not being honest about what getting ready will cost.
