Huge thanks to all of the members of the #utleg who joined us for our "Not-So-Sweet 16" festivities, highlighting the 16 years since UT last increased the cigarette tax. #YesOnHB337 will finally address this issue, saving lives and state $$$

Increasing tobacco taxes is one of the most effective ways to reduce tobacco use, especially among kids.
Currently, in UT, smoking is attributed to more than 15% of cancer deaths, and $630 mil in annual health care costs including more than $135 mil in Medicaid costs. #utleg

The House just voted YES on the spending bill!
Grateful to lawmakers for advancing a powerful package that supports #CancerResearch and prevention through funding for @NIH, @theNCI more, and #EarlyDetection through the #MCEDAct.
The bill now goes to the Senate for a vote.
The House is expected to vote on a spending bill this week that brings us closer to new treatments, earlier detection & more lives saved from cancer. But only if lawmakers follow through.
