It was great to be among union brothers & sisters at the @AFLCIO Convention this week, tackling the issues that matter most to workers at this pivotal moment. Proud to be reelected to the Executive Council & be part of the unanimous reelection of @LizShuler & @STRedmond.
"We're asking lawmakers to take two good bills and take the best out of both.” @ALPAPresident tells Scripps News why it's not ROTOR Act versus ALERT Act — Congress should include the best parts of each in one strong aviation safety bill that closes critical gaps.
Congratulations @FedExPilots on ratifying a new contract after five years of pushing management to reach a deal. These pilots remained unified throughout bargaining and secured an agreement addressing compensation, retirement, scheduling, work rules, job protections and more.
"This ratification concludes a nearly five-year negotiation process and reflects the collective decision of the pilot group."
Capt. Jose Nieves, FDX MEC Chair

It was great to visit with @ALPAPilots, where I had the chance to meet with two pilots who call Texas-24 home. We discussed the importance of safety in aviation and reforms needed for improvement.

Mediation is the next step in our contract negotiations. Watch for an overview of the timeline, and how it supports reaching a fair agreement.
We will be in mediation from June 9th to 12th, 2026.
Planes don't fly themselves.
Buses don't drive themselves.
Networks don't run themselves.
Behind each are the great men and women in our unions.
It was an honor to meet with @ALPAPilots, @ATUComm, and @CWAUnion this week and reaffirm the truth: unions keep America moving.
This week, @ALPAPilots hosted its 2026 Legislative Summit in Washington, D.C. Several Delta MEC pilot volunteers attended the summit to receive hands-on training on ALPA policy priorities and engagement strategies with federal lawmakers. The event featured legislative briefings, workshops, subject matter expert (SME) presentations, a Capitol Hill reception, and a high profile “Lobby Day” to meet directly with members of Congress and staff. #ALPA2026Summit
It was great to meet with @ALPAPilots from Texas during their visit to Capitol Hill. Pilots play a critical role in keeping America’s skies safe.
As Chairman of the @SenateCommerce Committee, I’ve worked to strengthen aviation safety by authoring the bipartisan ROTOR Act. The bill, which unanimously passed the Senate and has wide support in the House, would require ADS-B In wherever ADS-B Out is mandated, a critical technology that could’ve prevented last year’s tragic mid-air collision over the Potomac.
I appreciated the opportunity to discuss these priorities and thank them for their dedication to keeping the flying public safe.
"Equipping pilots with better tools, better data, better information is a common sense step towards preventing accidents." @RepBresnahan continues to fight for the mandates pilots need and aviation safety demands. #ALPA2026Summit
Behind most Spirit pilots is one income supporting an entire family. Spirit pilots stayed and flew every flight to the end of the end — and were promised a wind-down fund to cover what they earned. Bondholders: do what is right and release the funds Spirit pilots earned!
In this Alaska Pilots Podcast clip, MEC Chair Capt. Drew Coyle discusses progress in Joint Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations and efforts to secure a contract that reflects pilot priorities.

@RepValHoyle is a true champion for working people, the labor movement and aviation safety, always putting it above the narrow interests of industry. She's a true ALPA ally and we were so glad to have her join us at #ALPA2026Summit.
In just his first term, @RepBresnahan has become a strong voice for aviation safety — fighting for an ADS-B In mandate, protecting pilot mental health, promoting science-based fatigue rules and more. Thankful to have his support in Congress. #ALPA2026Summit
Thank you to @ALPAPilots for having me at your summit this week. Pilots are among the strongest advocates for aviation safety. Their efforts help those of us in Congress pass strong, bipartisan aviation safety laws.
It's critical that the final ALERT Act include strong requirements for integrated ADS-B In technology on commercial aircraft to prevent unnecessary tragedies in the future.
