I said what I said. These are extrajudicial killings--a type of murder. They need to stop-- and Congress should stop funding them.
It is a baffling admission that this cruel and lethal program is targeting these boats based on criteria other than being in possession of the very items purported in the administration’s already unlawful and dubious justification. lnk.thebulwark.com/3PYDQkV

Couldn't have said it better myself ;-). It is is an extrajudicial killing either way - but now we know that these are extrajudicial killings that are based on none of the things we were told they were based on... baffling.
If they really were drug boats, it would still be illegal to invoke the laws of war to blow them up. But we now know they may not even have had drugs on board! lnk.thebulwark.com/3PYDQkV

"The United States government has intentionally killed at least 205 people outside any lawful circumstances—and the operation is still ongoing. These extrajudicial killings are a form of murder," writes Amnesty International's National Director of Government Relations and Advocacy, Amanda Klasing, in the @BulwarkOnline Read the full oped👇

Drinking water installations are quintessentially “objects indispensable to survival,” a category with heightened protection in international law. Attacks directed against such installations are presumptively unlawful. This report strongly indicates precision strikes on two.
NEW: Our visual analysis suggests the United States hit two drinking-water facilities overnight in southern Iran with precision-guided munitions. Deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure could constitute a war crime. w/ @ckoettl @johnismay @ArtemisChats

A year ago, I introduced Block the Bombs to withhold the weapons from Israel that are being used to displace and murder Palestinians. Our fight has not ended.   Today, I stood with the powerful coalition continuing the fight to BLOCK THE BOMBS!   We will not stop until Block the Bombs becomes law.

"Murder as Policy" USA has now killed over 200 people in military strikes on boats in the Caribbean & eastern Pacific, claiming, without evidence, they were engaged in “narco-trafficking” operations. Critical insights from my colleague @AMKlasing on these extrajudicial killings;
The U.S. has killed more than 200 people in over 60 strikes on boats in the Caribbean and eastern Pacific, claiming without evidence that the boats were engaged in narcotrafficking. Amanda Klasing (@AMKlasing) of @amnestyusa says these are extrajudicial killings that constitute murder. “U.S. taxpayers should be outraged, absolutely outraged, that their money is going to murder as a policy,” says Klasing.

When I originally posted this, I had not listened to the full SFRC hearing with Rubio today. @SenRandPaul later establishes that the existence of arms on the boats is not part of the targeting criteria. Thank you Senators. Tune in around the 1:57 mark: senate.gov/isvp/?auto_play=f…

If you are outraged, and you should be, this exchange between @SenTimKaine & @SecRubio should blow your mind. This doesn’t change the analysis—these are extrajudicial killings. It makes it harder to discern what is the ostensible logic behind the strikes: x.com/atrupar/status/2061828…

Thanks @democracynow for having me on. As I said, people should be outraged by these killings.
