Those tapped into the combine could've easily foreseen this level of speed. Below are the 7'4" WS leaders in my size-adjusted agility metric (avg z-score of the 3 speed tests after regressing on height and mass). Edey is 2nd among players w/all 3 tests.
Tarris Reed Jr. is 1st.
Edey’s ability to accelerate in transition to create deep seals and cross-matches is insane. One of the best athletes in basketball history.

Reed's plus length & excellent mobility was evident in his time in college, but the Combine benchmarked just how special his movement is at his size.
Tarris is the only player 250lbs or higher to EVER test this agile, Zeke Nnaji is the only player anywhere close to his weight!

Tarris Reed showed off his glue-guy qualities at the NBA Draft Combine, setting screens, ducking in with physicality, passing, going out of his area for rebounds with his 7'4 wingspan and switching onto guards, just like we saw at UConn the last two seasons.

Got a chance to get in the gym with Syracuse wing Aiden Tobiason as he prepares to go through the predraft process.
Tobiason has spent the last two seasons at Temple where he’s shown some intriguing tools as a a 6’6” two-way wing who can make things happen off the ball and create his own shot. Potential to build some momentum during the predraft process and pop in the ACC for the Orange next season
