I appreciate this program, and the return of Kashmiri Pandits is essential for achieving complete and lasting peace in Kashmir. However, one question remains: why do some politicians participate in such programs only when it suits their political interests? When similar initiatives were held while they were out of power, many of them chose not to attend or support them. It would be good to understand what has changed now. The return of Kashmiri Pandits and the cause of peace should rise above politics and remain a collective responsibility for everyone.

Here you go!! I get the same feeling and CM sb end up saying, "Sirrrrrrrr, UT status bhi hata do 😜
Although I am abroad but couldn’t stop myself., when I found out that CM sahib had met PM sahib. A a start to the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar. What a joke. There is a sense of timing. Even if we will be lectured now that the date had been fixed earlier., CM sahib should have met after the protest. Why do I get this feeling. They did the same in 2019. And met the same PM sahib a day or so before abrogation. And I think finalised who will be housed where after detention. And how often CM sahib loves to crack a joke at the expense of those who voted for him. I can visualise CM sahib telling PM sahib. Sir we have to do some bit of theatrics. That fake wooden smile. Sir, Uncle must have briefed you.

I strongly condemn the brutal killing of innocent Kashmiris in PoJK. Every human life is precious, and such acts of violence are unacceptable. I urge the international community to take notice and raise its voice against these killings. I also appeal to all Kashmiris to stand together and speak out for justice, peace, and the protection of innocent lives.
Pakistani authorities must take immediate steps to deescalate the situation and practice restraint and strict adherence to international standards on the use of force. bit.ly/3RSTM8V

Isn’t J&K PC also an “ancestral” party? Leaving that aside, didn’t your founder & president contest elections from Congress to Janata Party (BJP) , part of bjp pdp govt and shift ideology from mainstream to extremist? As far as I am concerned, I am not associated with any party and have no personal attachment to any politician or party. I am a proud Kashmiri and stand only with myself. I support every step that is in the interest of Kashmir, regardless of who takes it. Also, today I feel like a leader, almost the entire PC is trying to make me a leader 🙏
Quite rich, “reviewing work”, though calling it work is generous. Publicity stunt sounds more accurate. Haina? A pattern is emerging, & frankly, it’s becoming impossible to ignore. The photograph says more than any press statement ever could: a face half-hidden, a position fully concealed. At least we have the courage to own our politics instead of masquerading behind ambiguity & selective outrage. Our battle has never been against one dynasty alone. We hold both political estates responsible for decades of betrayal, decay, & the systematic suffocation of Kashmiri aspirations. Accountability is not a buffet where you pick convenient targets. From where we stand, the priority remains questioning the government of today & the governments that perfected the art of theatrics yesterday. Which brings me to you, Mr. Aasif. Is there an understanding with the former ruling dispensation that the public isn’t aware of? Because this performance is beginning to look less like opposition & more like subcontracted loyalty. Disappointing, really. Many of us assumed you were bigger than social media trolling & political shadowboxing. So, which side are you on? And if your sympathies lie with the old order, why the camouflage? In Kashmir, even the mountains stand exposed. Why can’t our politicians?

Jinab Muzamil sb, I find you to be a good person, and I would request you to kindly make your team understand my tweet. In it, I have neither praised anyone nor acted as an indirect spokesperson of JKNC or the ruling government. Secondly, when there is an incompetent ruling government, people and leaders have every right to take charge and review its work. You cannot argue that only the ruling dispensation has the right to review, everyone has the right to assess and question every public work. Through Sajad Sb’s tweet, it appears as if he is trying to stop others from reviewing governance. By that logic, are you suggesting that someone with just one MLA in Handwara cannot speak about or question issues concerning the entire Jammu & Kashmir? @Mu_zam24
@ASIFFIRDOUS1 , accountability is not a privilege reserved exclusively for the ruling party. If public figures, regardless of political affiliation, make statements or take positions that invite scrutiny, they should expect to be questioned. Democracy is strengthened when everyone is held to the same standard, not when certain individuals are placed beyond criticism simply because they belong to the opposition. What is striking is that instead of engaging with the substance of the argument raised by @sajadlone sb the focus has shifted to questioning his motives. That does not answer the concern; it merely avoids it. Political maturity lies in addressing uncomfortable questions, not dismissing them as distractions. The real issue is simple: if the point raised was incorrect, rebut it with facts. If it was unfair, explain why. But suggesting that opposition leaders should remain silent about inconsistencies within the opposition itself is not accountability it is selective outrage. A question does not become invalid because of who asked it. @Bismahmeer_ @imrankehwah @the_haadii

Shri Shri @the_haadii as a former Chief Minister and now a normal citizen, has every right to review government work. FYI, AIIMS falls under the Tral constituency, and the MLA of Tral was with Mehbooba Mufti.
Shree @ASIFFIRDOUS1 sb, opposition doesn't mean giving every opposition party a free pass. When an opposition leader chooses publicity over principle, questioning that conduct is not only legitimate, it's necessary. If you behaves like a government's unofficial spokesperson, don't expect silence from us. Principles matter more than political club membership.

It is quite surprising to see an opposition leader questioning another opposition party over reviewing a work. Is this becoming a pattern, where the focus is more on targeting the opposition instead of holding the ruling party accountable? From your party and your position, one would expect greater emphasis on questioning the government rather than engaging in criticism of fellow opposition groups. Do you have any sort of understanding or alignment with the ruling dispensation? This is not what we expected from you @sajadlone
Irony died a thousand deaths today on Kashmiri politics. In a move packed with audacity former CM Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba chaired a review meeting at AIIMS. This is nothing short of a constitutional crisis. I can’t believe that the CM has not reacted to an event which erodes even further an already eroded power structure in J and K. This is a direct hit at the constitutional competencies of the elected government. And these constitutional competencies are the constitutional assets of the people of J and K. They are with the CM for a period of 5 years. He has no right to allow them to be trampled upon or allow to set a precedence for an unconstitutional trespass. In what capacity did she chair a review meeting of an institution which comes under the domain of the BJP led central government. Did the authorisation come from Delhi. Constitutionally, She can’t head a review meeting of the local departments which function under the elected government. Chairing Central government institutions review meetings is a constitutional impossibility. Was there a fresh notification? A government order? A special authorization from BJP? Or are we now operating under a new constitutional arrangement where selected few can bypass constitutional protocol. Are we shifting from a dual power centre to a Troika. Is she the new shadow Chief Minster. Can Mamta Banerjee Ji or Mr Stalin both ex chief ministers, chair review meetings. What is the special arrangement in J and K. Under what law did she chair a meeting of AIIMS. Is there a third power centre in the offing in J and K. Clarity is needed. Review is good. But J and K, reeling under institutional disempowerment cannot afford yet another round of disempowerment. It is Mehbooba Ji today. It could be somebody else tomorrow. Mark my words. This is not a just review meeting. This is yet another round of disempowerment in the offing. There is much more than meets the eye. Be prepared for a lot of theatre. And by the way. Observe the style. Security guards in attendance. Wow.

Today, I realized that JKNC is not in safe hands. Reacting with an indirect floor test merely because of some media bytes from the Leader of Opposition was an idiotic political move. It only exposed a lack of confidence in their own team and leadership. A very shameful and unnecessary display.

This suggestion was first put forward by @RuhullahMehdi long ago, but unfortunately @OmarAbdullah chose to ignore it. Aga Ruhullah is always ready ...... @Office_ASRM
NC has decided to protest on the first day of Parliament’s monsoon session in New Delhi for statehood and more. Will MP @RuhullahMehdi join the protest despite not part of today’s meeting? Point is also why protest if the govt can directly speak to the Centre?

Hahaha! From Prime Minister to Chief Minister, from the Plebiscite Front to what now seems like siyasi awaragardi, it is the people of Kashmir who have paid the price of your leaders decision at every stage. At least behave like a true Kashmiri and speak for the interests of the people, not like a blind National Conference chamcha. Kashmir deserves leaders and voices that stand with its people, not with party loyalties.
Look who is talking. From waving the Sabz Rumaal to her infamous “toffee” remarks, the PDP chief has always known how to stay in the spotlight. And it seems those theatrics paid off not just for her, but for her daughter @IltijaMufti_ as well, who alternates between playing matrimonial counsellor and aspiring political heir. Now, @MehboobaMufti Ji is at it again. The moment HCM @OmarAbdullah Shb hinted at political developments after Eid, she suddenly rediscovered the language of unity. It’s remarkable how quickly calls for togetherness emerge whenever she finds herself on the political sidelines. One can’t help but wonder: is there any line she won’t cross for attention, or are these recurring political stunts destined to remain her only strategy for relevance?

Who was in Pahalgam or in the marathon is not what concerns the common voter. What truly matters is a united front working for the welfare of the people. It is encouraging when everything remains in the public domain, as it allows people to see the transparency of leaders and political parties. Maybe we can regain our rights if everyone sets aside ego clashes and political infighting. Otherwise, the future may not be good for either of the parties @OmarAbdullah
Mehbooba Mufti Sahiba, we spoke on Saturday when you asked to meet. I told you I was in Pahalgam on Sunday & would get in touch on Monday or Tuesday to fix to meet. Your letter gives the impression that I’ve kept you waiting for an appointment for weeks on end, which is clearly not the case. Be that as it may, your letter to me is now in the public domain and I will be sending you a reply, similarly routed, once I’ve consulted my senior party colleagues.

People voted and elected a Chief Minister with the hope that he would represent the voice of the people before the LG and the Centre. But today, when the biggest festival of Muslims in J&K is around the corner, thousands of employees and daily wagers are still without salaries. It is disappointing that no serious push has been made for the immediate release of their wages before Eid. Families are suffering, and this silence is deeply unfortunate.
