Caitir casts two pellets on the nest: fur, bone and feather she can't digest, compacted and brought back up.
A pellet is a record of what's been eaten, and something we'll be able to learn from down the line.. 🦅

🔴 NEW: Russian oligarchs, billionaires, foreign governments, international royalty, and banking giants are among those behind nearly 1,000 offshore entities who are illegally flouting the land control registry.
Our latest: theferret.scot/offshore-land…
ALT Black and white image of a Scottish town and large historic building, with The Ferret logo. Text reads: “Revealed. Hundreds of offshore landowners are illegally flouting Scotland’s land control register. Offshore companies which own Scottish land are breaking the law by failing to reveal who they really represent. Authorities aren’t bothering to check.”
One youngster goes to collect breakfast from an incoming adult whilst the others observe the action and then watch the adult return to the spire. The spirecam shows a peregrine circling to gain height.
A pair of Cornish Choughs photographed near St Ives last week. 🖤❤️ Iconic birds of Cornwall, featured on the Cornish coat of arms and once extinct in the county. Great to see them thriving again. #Cornwall#Chough#Wildlife@ILoveCornwallUK#birding#stives
Caitir and Jupiter were sleeping soundly — then the nest had a visitor 🦅
A young eagle, one or two years old. One of last year's? Maybe. Or just a sociable young wanderer drawn to a settled nest.
Caitir, as always, had something to say about it.

88 deliveries since hatch:
51 rabbit, 25 birds, 3 fish.
This week it flipped — 7 of 14 were birds (gull, short-eared owl, likely guillemot), beating rabbit for the first time.
And Caitir matched Loki catch for catch, 7 each. 🦅

A tough week for Jupiter 🦅
Fewer deliveries. Heavy rain. The "mumbrella" shrinking as the eaglet outgrows Caitir's shelter.
But the feathers are starting to do their job. Loki and Caitir are back lending a hand. And the chirp is back.

You are meant to be working for the people of Scotland @StephenFlynnSNP Which extends to managing our waters for the many not the few. Take time to learn about the extensive impacts of the foreign owned #Salmon industry before smoothing their way at the expense of the rest of us
Oh dear - @StephenFlynnSNP kowtowing to the Salmafia lobbyists already.
The salmon industry lodged 200 plus objections to SEPA regulations overseeing their industry so Stephen has decided to promise them a “speedy boarding pass” 🤬
This picture would make an incredible album cover! 🦅
Yesterday morning we colour-ringed a nest of young Goshawk at a private site in Staffordshire.
Truly stunning and deadly raptors. We’re privileged to monitor this species and look forward to future recoveries.💚
I really enjoyed this conversation with Craig Bennett, CEO of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts. We spoke about the future of nature in Britain, the progress being made, and why there’s still plenty of reason for hope.
Out now wherever you get your podcasts.

Difference between you and the rest of the farmers at @ScotlandRHShow is that they are not allowed to let their livestock's shit and medication flow unfettered into our fresh water and sea lochs, and they have a hell of a lot less mortalities. #ScottishSalmon 🇳🇴#OffTheTable
There has also been a large arrival of Quail over the last couple of nights with 10 ‘new’ birds reported around the #LDV during the last 48 hours - bringing this years total to over 20, with another individual caught and ringed as part of our long-term study into the species 🐦
Another of the Western Reef Heron on the River Seiont at Caernarfon Castle last Sunday morning. Lovely pose & showing its elegant breeding plumes in this capture. Fabulous Bird. 🤩
