Damn right! We're chasing normal. Life. This belief that everyone who dares ask for Rx pain relief meds is getting high is total nonsense. Media driven. I dont get high. I just want relief from life stealing, soul sucking pain. Feeling bit feisty this morning.

We are going to start a series showing medical records with false info in them. It happened to me, and it is atrocious what the doctor wrote. Here is another patient story: "My father was rushed to the hospital via rescue squad for a ruptured appendix and gal stones. After being discharged his wife got a copy of his medical records. In it, it said that he drove there intoxicated on alcohol. He was rushed in via squad and hasn't had a sip of alcohol in 20 years. It was disgusting and defamatory. Thats how they declined him pain management. Write in his record that he was drunk"

A few years ago, I had an accident while in Wisconsin and broke my foot so badly it took a trauma surgeon to fix it over two surgeries. I couldn’t have surgery there because my little girl would have been all alone…our nearest family was 5 states away and I knew no one. No way was I going under. ER discharged me with zero pain meds and sent me home to Texas to find a surgeon on my own. My Texas doc was big mad. He knew the kind of pain I was in. He gave me a 30 day supply of opiates right then and another RX after the surgery. Pain pills have a place in medicine.
