I die a little inside everytime I hear someone say "I do automation, I don't do manual testing"
Your team cannot create valuable automated tests/checks without exploratory testing. You need to explore a system, to understand it enough to create valuable automation. Automation that is truly going to help the team make decisions. And not just generate noise/distraction.

This is Jordan Neely. On Monday, he was lynched. On the NYC subway he started telling passengers that he was fed up being hungry, thirsty and having no place to rest. He began to shout in his frustration, and threw his jacket on the floor. An ex-marine then murdered him.🧵

Most of what we call "Quality Assurance" is actually "Quantity Assurance". Quantity of test cases, quantity of bugs raised, quantity of bugs fixed... Quality isn't measurable. But Quantity is. If you're counting something, you're counting a quantity.

How would you write "I did grocery shopping" on a resume? “Managed the timely and cost-effective purchase of core operational supplies of a dynamic and agile team and ensured that all stakeholders had the required nutritional inputs to operate functionally.”
