The Evolution of Concrete Testing: From Concrete Cubes to Wireless Sensors 1/3 Traditional method: When concrete is poured, contractors cast cylinders or cubes (2 sets). • One set cures in a lab (standard 20°C/100% RH). • The other cures on-site. Samples are later crushed in a compression machine to measure strength at 7, 14, or 28 days. Simple… but seriously outdated.
