We have less than 5 years to act on climate change or severely increase risk of human extinction- 5% of us left 2150 if we do nothing! REDUCE CO2 #climateaction

Only Peter Dutton and the Liberals could look at the climate crisis and decide the solution is to make gas guzzling American utes cheaper and EVs more expensive. It’s like they sat down and asked: “What’s the worst idea we can think of?” Then doubled it. #auspol

The Coalition's promise to end electric vehicle subsidies could drive up prices for popular EVs by more than $15,000 under a typical novated lease and have an almost immediate effect on sales. ab.co/3GqpFjh

It's fascinating that Conservatives can't seem to handle strong women leaders anymore. They can't help diminishing strong women as "servants" to some man, any man, no matter how tenuous or counter-factual the link is. e.g. "Julia [Gillard] Bob Brown's bitch"; "Simon says"; etc.
geez, they didn’t even send me a t-shirt. (this misogynistic campaign is from “better australia”, the group started by yaron finkelstein, scott morrison’s principal private secretary.)

EXTINCTION: "2 degrees is already beyond adaptation for fuck's sake. 3 degrees is mass death for sure." ~ IPCC Lead Authors Warming of 2 to 3°C and rising can best be described as unsurvivable. The climate scientists whose views are most respected by their peers warn of 3-5°C.

Replying to @ClimateBen
We’re not on track for 4-5 degrees of warming anymore. We are on track for 2-3 and we can definitely adapt to 2-3.

Capitalism means ongoing biome and biodiversity annihilation as well as 3-4°C by 2050 or soon after. We actually have no evidence whatsoever that 2-3°C is survivable. In fact, it clearly won't be for an extraordinarily high percentage of Earth's species. Primates? Very high risk.
This fallacy that 'actions by our governments' will limit global warming to about 2.7°C is very dangerous. We could experience this level of warming already around 2050, based on real forcing (greenhouse gases and aerosols) changes and observations of Earth’s Energy Imbalance

Found him! 23 days. That’s how long @CharlotteGriev1 at The Age spent trying to track down and question Liberal candidate Zahid Safi. Running for office without facing the public is standard Liberal political strategy apparently. Has your local Liberal been in hiding? #auspol

ANZAC Day is about remembering the profound, lasting horrors of war & doing all we can to ensure peace All those who have been & continue to be subjected to the cruelty of war weigh on us this day We must remember because only by remembering can we understand the need for peace

Chevron made 8bn profit off Australian gas last year- $17bn in the last 3y. In that time it’s paid $0 in petroleum resources rent tax. We let multinationals sell our gas overseas for free while we struggle with a cost-of-living crisis. I’ll keep pushing for fair tax reform.

The gate crashing of the right wing at two Kooyong community forums attended by Dr Ryan are showing how triggered the right are getting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such hate, anger and vitriol. Scared of the Teal community and are being fed a trumpist Liberal agenda #kooyong

Amelia Hamer wasn’t at the Kooyong forum about the media last night at Kew Library. I wonder if she will at least denounce the behaviour of the far-right members who disrupted the event resulting in violence? Are these the people she’s preferencing? #KooyongVotes

Is @HamerAmelia going to appear in ANY public forum with the other candidates for Kooyong?? Obviously, she would be like Josh Frydenburg and not engage with the community. #auspol
