Do you remember just four years ago, when Iowa and Illinois had 3-5" of snow and temperatures in the teens? Snow & cold records were broken from Quad Cities to Chicago!

June #MidwestClimate summary in 1 word: DRY.
8 of 9 states had below-average rainfall, with 4 landing in the top 10 driest for June. A couple counties in southern Wisconsin had the driest June on record!

MRCC's Vegetation Impact Program (VIP) offers freeze-related monitoring maps that you won't find anywhere else. Shown here are GDD accumulations (base 42) since last 28F freeze. You can customize the GDD base for 28F & 32F thresholds. ❄️🐛🌱
