Blaming the previous government for weak economic growth would be more compelling if Mr. Carney wasn't also the Chair of the Liberals' Task Force on Economic Growth under the previous government. #cdnpoli
There are signs of economic weakness in Canada, PM Carney said, arguing this reflects policy decisions made since he came to power aimed at rewiring the economy to deal with U.S. tariffs. wsj.com/world/americas/canad…

I'm on the Internet today to see a guy being schooled about the need for land rollers by a man literally named Mr. Stone.
If you can’t harvest a field because of rocks I would say that’s a 100 percent yield advantage. Be mindful obviously but there is significant utility

The Pacific pipeline MOU is dead. Oil CEOs have said they cannot and will not expand production under carbon taxes, Pathways CCS costs and other Net Zero burdens. Without producer commitments, no pipeline company will come forward. Without shipper commitments, there is no project. @ABDanielleSmith should tell @MarkJCarney tomorrow: the MOU is over, and Ottawa must end its Net Zero policies now.
Replying to @ExnerPirot
If you are wondering why CEOs are getting more pointed, it is because they see the enormous opportunity laying at our country’s feet, but our political leaders are still not bending down to pick it up. Let’s act with some urgency for once. Let’s attract some @%#! investment.

Mark Carney’s decarbonization crusade isn’t climate policy—it’s a wealth transfer racket. While Alberta’s oil producers bleed under punitive carbon taxes and forced credit purchases, Carney’s old pals at Brookfield rake in the subsidies and green investment fees. This isn’t saving the planet; it’s sacrificing Canadian energy sovereignty on the altar of his personal ESG grift.
PM Carney say dirty Albertan oil needs to be “decarbonized” by paying Liberal-friendly firms like Brookfield Renewables carbon indulgences. This is a scam to punish Alberta and enrich Carney and his cronies.

Clearly he's talking about Brookfield under the management of Mark Carney using tax havens in Bermuda and the Cayman Islands to avoid $5B in taxes, right? Oh, no. He mentions a hairdresser and a painter. What a fkn chump.

Today Korea surpassed Canada as the 7th largest economy in the world. Korea! A baby island! Surpassed the largest nation on planet with mineral and natural wealth, intelligent and educated people. What’s keeping Canada 🇨🇦 behind? It’s shitty government . Time for change.
Community note
South Korea surpassed Canada as the seventh-largest stock market by market capitalization ($4.59T vs $4.5T), not economy; Canada's GDP remains larger ($2.51T vs South Korea's $1.93T). bloomberg.com/news/articles/… imf.org/external/datam…

MP John Brassard is one of my absolute favourite MPs right now 🔥 He just went nuclear on the Carney Liberals for sneaking committee meetings “in camera” (secret, no cameras, no public) so Canadians can’t see them burying the scandals: - The $300M PrescribeIT boondoggle - The $200M Spaceport deal - Brookfield’s backroom access to the PM - Ethics screens and travel scandals Brassard nailed it: “This is not a Brookfield boardroom — this is the Parliament of Canada!” This is the majority power grab and the death of open government in real time. The grand illusion is colliding with reality. Business is finally calling out the BS. We can either be an energy superpower or we can have an industrial carbon tax. We can’t do both. I have made my choice. Prime Minister, what is yours?

I hear so many people blaming the outrageous gas prices on Donald Trump, but here’s a fact for y’all to ponder. Oil just topped $100 per barrel. As of five minutes ago gas is selling for $1.90/litre in my neighborhood. The last time oil hit $100 per barrel was under Stephen Harper, yet gas prices topped out at $1.38 per litre back then. Yes, the Iran war is affecting gas prices, but there’s about 52¢/litre that is the direct result of taxes, environmental taxes, and taxes on those taxes.

Mark Carney announcing a “sovereign wealth fund” while simultaneously running one of the largest deficits in Canadian history is one of the most shameless attempts at gaslighting the public I’ve ever seen. I have no problem supporting investments to build our nation’s future. But doing so by putting even more debt on the national credit card entirely defeats the point! Unless, of course, the real goal is simply to create a $25 billion Liberal slush fund. In which case, this all makes perfect sense.

Rob Carrick, a columnist for the Globe and Mail, supports the idea of opening government-owned grocery stores on the premise that “we’ve tried everything else and it didn’t work.” Well, have we? Interprovincial trade barriers are still there. Supply management is still there. The industrial carbon tax is still there. Our poor logistics are still there. Retail price distortions are still there. The overwhelming red tape is still there. Tried everything? Not quite. theglobeandmail.com/investin…

Geez... It's almost as if US Trade Representative Rick Switzer read my post on X a few days ago and used that as his answer to the question of the US and Canada's deteriorating relationship. But probably not. More than likely he has access to a MAP and understands basic geography. I'd imagine he may have also Googled the US-Canada trade history before this press conference and learned that our trade relationship was the strongest of any two nations in the world. It is entirely possible that Mr. Switzer is a rational human being who has a general comprehension of not only geography, but also demographics and economics—you know, with his being a trade representative and all. Or maybe not. Maybe he's an agent of Trump who was sent to destroy Canada and everything he says here is just MAGA Nazi conspiracy theories. I mean, Mark Carney is a central banker after all! He totally wasn't the guy who brought Britain's economy to near total collapse. (He was) Elbows up, retards!
ABSOLUTELY MUST WATCH CLIP... Deputy US Trade Representative Rick Switzer on USMCA "They can have a weak economy that is underperforming and not doing well, and Carney can feel superior." "Or they can have an economy that participates with as a partner of the U.S. economy." "And Carney can do what a grownup should do, which is figure out." "...It's my job as a person who's supposed to protect Canadian jobs and Canadian citizens and the Canadian economy to not let my ego and my feelings dictate what's best for my own economy." Q "Do you think this will have implications for the USMCA?" Switzer "Yeah, of course it is..." "Look, was Ambassador Greer in Canada? Did he meet with Carney? No." "...The grownups are in the room talking because there's a grown up in the presidency in leadership there, and I would argue there's not a grown up in Canada in charge there." "You don't go out of your way to antagonize the leader of the country that you are absolutely existentially tied to." "It's just political malpractice." @markjcarney
