Industry friends - I was wondering whether anybody could help re Spotlight. I have an agent for Voiceover, but am self repped for Acting. When I add my VO Agent to my spotlight profile, I am no longer able to apply for Acting jobs from the feed (1/)

Not sure whether there's something obvious I'm missing (probably xo) but I can't seem to figure out how to change this. Surely I'm not the only person in this situation! Anybody know how I can navigate this? Thanks (2/2)

🧵(1) Imagine, you're a working class actor from Wigan, you pay for your flat by working at a coffee shop because it's the only job that will allow you time off for auditions. Every month you pay for classes, workshops and casting sites, and the call comes in, London, tomorrow.

As disabled people we are often told that 'our time will come'. But everyday it feels more like we are being waited out. Our stories still fascinate, our experiences are stolen, worn by outsiders to be celebrated. And we are left as the ghost writers of stolen valor.

Do you have any idea how it feels, to suspect if you are ever beaten to death, even by your fiancƩ, that the narrative will focus on the man and how he seemed nice, and not about you, and your untimely woman death?

If the massive increase in LGBT identification in recent years is a result of increased acceptance, why aren't we seeing large numbers of Gen X and older coming out of the closet?

This hit hard today. Chris (like usual) is so right. Nothing is promised to artists from the North West. Benefits class background meant I couldn’t venture far for art so relied on these buildings. I don’t think I would have thought acting was even an option without them.

It's a good time to remember that the Chairman of the BBC is Richard Sharp, someone who's donated £400,000 to the Conservatives and helped Boris Johnson with an £800,000 loan. Let's remember that when they talk about BBC "impartiality".

Still thinking about Aftersun and listening to a lot of interviews with Charlotte Wells and I've been discussing it with students a lot. It's phenomenal both because it's a beautiful film and because it's done so well. 2 observations that I think are important:

My dad died on Christmas Eve. He waited for an ambulance for 3 hours before it was too late. He was only 58. I’ve fought my whole life to stop this kind of thing from happening. I admit defeat. It’s over. We’ve lost. The Tories have what they wanted.
