2/ They are in good agreement on the inter-annual and longer-term variability of the AMOC."

Meanwhile, back in the real world, the Met Office says, nothing unusual is happening to the AMOC. "AMOC across the RAPID array at 26.5°N. Two datasets are shown; RAPID array observational data and GloSea5 global ocean reanalysis data.

Learn some science Geoffrey instead of mindlessly fear mongering! Watch: The ITCZ Drives Our Warming trend NOT CO2ppm! x.com/JimSteeleSkepti/status… & Watch: Why Extreme Heat Waves Not Related to Greenhouse Warming. Is the Earth really burning up??? youtube.com/watch?v=aZloOGdZ…

The ITCZ Drives Our Warming trend NOT CO2ppm! Climitards argue the world had been in a Holocene cooling trend, but now a warming trend has reversed that cooling. So mindlessly they blame rising CO2. Climitards ignore how the ITCZ (InterTropical Convergence Zone) has shifted during the last 12,000 years, and that the ITCZ shifts correlate perfectly with changing global temperatures, unlike the CO2 concentration mismatches during the Holocene. The ITCZ moves north and south depending on the location of the earth’s median temperature (energy flux). The ITCZ drives the earth’s most important circulation pattern, the Hadley Circulation. As the ITCZ shifts, it changes the pattern of tropical rainfall, but also the location of warm & dry weather patterns associated with the linked high-pressure systems. By affecting atmospheric and ocean circulation and the transport of heat, the ITCZ shifts are also associated with shifts in the earth’s global temperature. As seen in graphic A, the ITCZ shifts with seasonal solar heating of the hemispheres, causing a rainy season in the northern tropics summer and a dry season in the southern tropics. It then reverses in our winter. In addition, the ITCZ shifts in accord with orbital changes that oscillate over 26,000-year periods (precession cycle), and 41,000 period (obliquity cycle). As seen in graphic B, when the summer ITCZ position (red line) was farthest south, the world was in a cold glacial period. As the ITCZ migrated northward, the earth entered the Holocene Warm period associated with greater inflows of warm water into the Arctic and the warmest temperatures in the past 100,000 years (black line is temperature). Since the Holocene Warm period, the ITCZ and the earth’s global temperatures have been declining, associated with reduced inflows of tropical water into the Arctic. These changes were primarily due to changes in the orbital cycles. However, due to shifts in atmospheric and ocean circulation from natural oscillations, there is still great variability in ITCZ’s location. A closer look at ITCZ variability over the past 2000 years (graphic C) helps us understand today’s warming trend. When the ITCZ shifted northward, the world entered the Medieval Warm Period with the warmest temperatures in 2000 years. Then as the ITCZ migrated southward and became located further south than at anytime during the last 10,000 years, we entered the Little Ice Age with growing glaciers and sea ice. But about 150 years ago, before CO2 ppm had any influence, the ITCZ began migrating northward (highlighted by red circle), warm ocean currents were increasingly migrating into the Arctic, and the world began to warm. Climitards and CO2 alarmists ignore this science, science that is published in numerous peer-reviewed papers. The globalists would rather blame CO2 to get political control. They can’t control the ITCZ. The Climitards ignore this science because they are just ignorant!

FYI, this happened by accident. The "strong growth figures" in Q1 were a temporary bounce after three quarters when the UK economy barely grew at all. The IMF upgrade simply reflected this backward-looking data, rather than any improvement in the outlook for the rest of 2026.

Another moronic post by this Neanderthal. Electricity only supplies about 20% of our total energy needs. Of that intermittents are hitting around 50%. This has come at great cost. We now have the most expensive electricity in the world. Wind turbines are not manufactured in Hull. They are made in Germany or China. The blades are assembled in hull with imported balsa stipped from South American rain forests. Meanwhile around 1000 jobs per month are being lost in the oil and gas industry. We still need that oil and gas for 80% of energy, medical, chemicals and farming needs. What a plonker!!!

Nope, my reply corrects your misinformation. I'll put it another way to try and help your understanding. Your turbine only runs clean for about 25-30% of its 25 year life. It only runs for about 8 years of its 25 year life, with fossil fuel and nuclear generation running for most of the remaining 17 years. And extra grid balancing, backup capacity, transmission upgrades and curtailment are not included in those costs.
