Check out another outstanding contribution in ACS Bio & Med Chem Au from Jennifer Bridwell-Rabb's lab @BridwellRabbLab. Jennifer is one of our 2024 Rising Stars in Biological, Medicinal, and Pharmaceutical Chemistry! #OpenAccess@ACSBioMed @lavasanifar pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
I've started posting some literature-based organic chemistry problems at
lutzpolymerlab.weebly.com/re…. I assembled them during Covid-lockdown boredom and since I haven't figured out anything better to do with them, I thought I'd put them online in case others might find them useful.
So honored to be named a 2023 #SloanFellow! Very grateful I get to do research with the incredible members of the @BridwellRabbLab! Congratulations to all of the awardees!
We are delighted to announce the winners of this year’s Sloan Research Fellowship! These outstanding researchers are shining examples of innovation and impact—and we are thrilled to support them. Meet the winners here: sloan.org/fellowships/2023-F… 🎉 #SloanFellow#STEM#ScienceTwitter
Inspiring work to provide clean and safe drinking water within communities rather than shipping pallets of plastic water bottles.

even if the rest of the day is complete shit… as my instructor xochitl says “the fact that u took time out of ur day to care for yourself matters”….. so true, xochitl
A key finding is both the polymer AND the pesky plasticizer additive are repurposed in this process. This aspect is really important for dealing with PVC waste b/c PVC and phthalates have been formulated together for decades. (truly a toxic power couple)
It’s finally time to share the fruit of my post-doc research on plastics upcycling: a method for repurposing PVC waste in chlorination reactions. Check it out! Thanks to @AnneJMcNeil, Han, Sofia, and Jose, and @McNeilGroup! nature.com/articles/s41557-0…
As scientists, we often forget just how cool our work is. I showed my parents what I do in lab for the first time today & my mom was amazed just looking at DNA on a agarose gel & human cells under the microscope. Take a moment to be proud of yourself & your science!
I strongly agree with this direction of having a diverse (electronics, different groups) rather than an expansive scope. Furthermore, including negative examples of low yields would establish limitations and save resources of others wanting to apply the method
