Happy Pride! PVTA was honoured to be able to take part in the celebration. To our LBGTQ2IA members, colleagues, students, and community… we see you, we hear you, we respect you, we are here for you!
Today, I and hundreds of Saskatchewan teachers represent their colleagues across the province at the 2024 STF Annual Meeting of Council. I'm honoured and enthused to be part of this important work again, today through Saturday. #stfcouncil#wearestf@SaskTeachersFed
On strike with 5000 STF teachers at the Sask Legislative Building, asking that significant and reliable funding increases for classrooms be part of our collective agreement, not just election year budget promises.

Government's story: We have the highest per capita education spending in Canada
Reality: This is misleading—not everyone in Sk is a student! In per-student funding, we're second-last (and soon-to-be last).

On my lunch break from chairing Public Accounts, I joined dedicated teachers from Prairie Valley Schools.
Teachers from Southey, Vibank, Montmartre, Milestone, Wolseley, Indian Head, Kelliher, Lumsden, Pilot Butte, and Fort Qu’Appelle were clear: they are fighting for students.
We set aside two full days to bargain in good faith with the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee (GTBC).
Today, they didn't even bother to show up.
Our kids deserve better than not showing up.

This is an excellent article - my favourite line is at the end with a call to government to trust teachers, talk with teachers and find a solution with teachers.
Today is the day to let teachers know you stand with us in demanding smaller, better supported classrooms. Violence-free schools. Adequate hiring of specialists like educational psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and school counselors. #ISupportSTF
