of surgery has terrible outcomes for patients. Trans lobby group TransActual want the NHS to pay for this surgery abroad, a crackpot idea.

A paradox of running a suicide-prevention nonprofit is that talking about suicide can in certain contexts fuel suicide, which is highly socially contagious.
Do those who beat the drum about trans-youth suicides set up an expectation that members of this population will invariably kill themselves absent securing gender-transition interventions?
For every time a doctor tells a parent in front of their gender-dysphoric child, โWould you rather have a live son or a dead daughter?โ does this instill in the child the premise that they should commit suicide if their parents deny them these drugs?
This is an overlooked scandal. Organizations like The Trevor Project may receive more donations when donors believe there is a crisis. If there is, in fact, no crisisโor if the problem is being overstatedโthen a difficult ethical question arises: How is it ethical to promote narratives that may be unfounded when doing so also increases donations?

What you mean is that you donโt like the law. At least be honest about it - and say you want gender self-ID. Protesting about a Code of Practice that helps people to comply with the law - and to avoid losing endless legal cases - is just an empty gesture. Pathetic.

It's wild how so many people really really want a movement centered around male sexual fetishes and predation to be women's fault.
Not a man alive decided to grow moobs or wank in women's spaces because he read an incoherent postmodern "feminist". They do it because of porn.

Women have been targeted for conditioning since the 1960's. Psychiatrists advised them against leaving their transvestite husbands, even when they were abusive. They often couldn't afford to divorce, anyway.
Third wave "feminism" came out of universities beginning in the 90's - shortly after Women's Studies programs were renamed to "Gender Studies." Gender being a term popularized by sexologists and psychiatrists, not feminists.
The first "gender clinics" opened at universities in the 60's. "Gender identity" was added to the DSM in 1980.
Which means even academic feminism was one of the last major institutions to embrace GI: after the APA, after universities, after the medical establishment - all dominated by men during the time.
The insult created by trans activists labels women "TERFs" - the wrong kind of feminist.
Most people who are punished for speaking out are women. Women are silenced across social media, banned, no-platformed from speaking events.
Most people who blame women or feminism for GI never talk about the role of porn, sexology, or the APA.
Which to me, reads like misogyny, rather than a nuanced perspective.
You'll rarely, if ever, hear such people talk about Arnold Lowman, Paul Allen Walker, Harry Benjamin, Stanley Biber, John Oliven, Volkmar Sigusch, Vern Bullough, Erwin Gohrbandt, John Money, Eli Coleman, Walter Bockting, or Mark Bowers, to name just a few.
It's just "What about Judith Butler?" on loop.
