We want to make sure that families have information when they are concerned about a prisoner here at HMP Altcourse.
We now have an online safer custody portal which will signpost you to the right source of information: Prisoners' Families Helpline (prisonersfamilies.org)

Happy to pass over a cheque to Ian & Carol from #wildwingsbirdsofprey. The money was donated by our prisoners from a recent 5K run. Thanks to the gym staff for helping Dave to organise it. WW are based Nr Warrington and are well worth a visit. @SodexoUK_IRE

Our new mews is up and running. This gives our rescued birds of prey more space to fly free and be safely and comfortably housed. Our prisoners currently look after 20 birds who have had a difficult and sometimes traumatic life. Some of our birds will go onto be therapy birds.

Not only a breakbreakthrough day for my MA in Journalism @faljournalism but one of the best things I’ve ever done in journalism, a prison visit to @AltcourseHOPE in Liverpool interviewing inmates on sport and rehabilitation. Fantastic access for my special project podcast.

Over the past year staff and prisoners have been collecting for our nominated charity #clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool. The cheque was presented by our deputy director to Jayne, from Cancer Research. Well done to all who took part throughout the year.

Well done to all the staff and prisoners who contributed to #seansplace bike ride. The equivalent of 5 round trips to London was covered in a few weeks during lunch and gym times.£585 was raised. #cycling #HMPAltcourse
