#Microwave #Crosstalk in Planar Superconducting Quantum Devices is common in many multi-component integrated superconducting quantum circuits and limits their performance, whether the circuits are used for #quantum #computing or for #sensing. In this new paper out on @arxiv today, we identify three main cross-talk mechanisms prevalent in many planar device and verify their origin in dedicated experiments. Read more about our work here: arxiv.org/abs/2606.02440 and let us know if you have any questions or comments. The work was done at the Department of Physics (@ETH_physics), the Quantum Center (@ETHQuantumCntr), and the @ETH Zürich - @psich_en Paul Scherrer Institut Quantum Computing Hub by Yongxin Song, Dominic Hagmann, Kieran Dalton, Felix Henrich, Felix Wagner, Mohsen Bahrami Panah, Marek Pechal, and @AndreasAtETH. The work was supported by @IARPAnews, the @ETHFoundation1, and @ETH_en Zürich.

I am optimistic that #Switzerland will win against #Finland tonight at the @IIHFHockey #Hockey World Championship in #Zurich. If anything, it will be almost impossible to win against this crazy crowd of 10 thousand #Switzerland supporters in the very nice @swisslife Arena. Also because of them @swiss_hockey has not lost a single game in this tournament! Check out the video below and use any footage for yourself, if you like! Hopp Schwiiz! I am keeping my fingers crossed for the first win of the team #Switzerland at an @IIHFHockey World Championship. Go and win this!

Hopp Schwiiz! I think #Switzerland is moving on to the finals today in the @IIHFHockey #hockey world championship semi-final game against Norway. The @swiss_hockey team is doing a great job and the atmosphere in the @swisslife Arena in #Zurich is amazing with 10.000 supporters. Check out the video below which I took at the SUI-GER match on Monday a week ago. I will be in the arena today for both the SUI-NOR and the CAN-FIN games. Say hello if you see me!

There are two exciting #faculty position opportunities at the Department of Physics (@ETH_physics) of @ETH Zürich that are looking to be filled at an open rank level, i.e. either as tenure track assistant professors, or as associate or full professor. Spread the word and forward this message to your #quantum connections. Successful candidates can look forward to move into a brand new building (ethz.ch/en/campus/developmen…), make use of the great infrastructure (e.g. FIRST first.ethz.ch/ and BRNC brnc.ethz.ch/) at ETH Zurich, be part of the Quantum Center, @ETHQuantumCntr, and get great students from the #Physics and Quantum Engineering Commission Master programs at ETHZ. Check out the two advertisements here: Professor or Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics (official deadline May 28) ethz.ch/en/the-eth-zurich/wo… Professor or Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) of Next-Generation Electrical and Optical Devices (official deadline May 31st) ethz.ch/en/the-eth-zurich/wo… Both deadlines are near, but ETHZ also considers applications post deadline. Still it is good to have your application in as soon as possible for the best outcome. Check out the photo on which you see the ETHZ Hoenggerberg Campus home of Department of Physics (D-PHYS), ETH Zurich, the new HPQ building and the FIRST clean room

Do you wonder how you can execute a #quantum algorithm on a quantum server in a way that the operator of the server does know neither the task nor the result? Here we conceptually demonstrate blind quantum computing using two modules on a modular 3D integrated #superconducting #circuit. We also analyze the overhead incurred by doing the computation blindly. Such methods could be used in the future over larger distances using either microwave or optical interconnects. Check out our new paper "Blind Quantum Computation on a Modular Superconducting Processor" which appeared on @arxiv today as arXiv:2605.14656 (arxiv.org/abs/2605.14656). The authors are Yongxin Song, Johannes Knörzer, Kieran Dalton, @AndreasAtETH, @BesseJC. The work was done at the Quantum Device Lab of the Department of Physics (@ETH_physics), @ETH Zurich, the Quantum Center, @ETHQuantumCntr, and the @ETH_en Zürich - @psich_en Paul Scherrer Institut Quantum Computing Hub. The work was supported by State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI and ETH Zürich.

This year our Quantum Device Lab (@qudev , qudev.phys.ethz.ch/) has completed its first 20 years at the Department of Physics (@ETH_physics) of @ETH Zürich, since six years we are also part of the Quantum Center, @ETHQuantumCntr, and since five years we co-run the @ETH_en Zürich - @psich_en Paul Scherrer Institut #Quantum Computing Hub. One of the aspects for the whole team to be proud of is the many successes of our current and former lab members. On the occasion of our lab's 20th anniversary, I give a shout out to former lab members who have moved on to graduate school, who now do postdocs, who started their own labs as faculty members, who have started companies, who have moved on to work in the quantum industry or in the tech industry. Today, I start with the professors. There are quite a few of them. Check out the article linked below. linkedin.com/pulse/first-twe…

Are you curious about the insights we gained when building our 30-m-long cryogenic microwave-frequency quantum link which we used to do a loophole free Bell test with superconducting qubits? This system also serves as a role model for how to interconnect devices in a large-scale modular superconducting #quantum #computer. In the new paper A Modular Cryogenic Link for Microwave Quantum Communication Over Distances of Tens of Meters out on @arxiv today we describe some of our learnings from constructing the system. Read more here: arxiv.org/abs/2604.15971 . Let us know if you have any questions. The work was done at the Quantum Device Lab (qudev.phys.ethz.ch/) of the Department of Physics (@ETH_physics) and the @ETHQuantumCntr of @ETH_en Zurich by Josua D. Schär, @simonstorz , Paul Magnard (now at Isentroniq), @PhilippKurpiers (now at Rohde & Schwarz), Janis Lütolf, Melvin Gehrig, @BesseJC , Anatoly Kulikov, and @AndreasAtETH with support from the European Research Council (ERC), and @ETH Zürich.
