Turns out early-life stress has lasting effects on brain development! 🧠 Our new work in @BrenhouseLab shows blocking CRHR1 can allow normal pubertal development and reduced anxiety-like behaviour in rats. 🐀 Published in @HormBehav @SBNTweets doi.org/10.1016/j.yhbeh.2026…

First, first author paper from my Ph.D. 🥹 See how different windows of early life stress have different developmental outcomes! 🐀 🧠 @BrenhouseLab @prabarna Thank you @BrenhouseLab ❤️
#earlylifestress in early infancy has different effects on pubertal timing and adolescent behavior than later exposure.   New findings from @brenhouselab @Angarika13 discriminate duration, timing, and sex-dependent effects of maternal separation 👇 doi.org/10.1016/j.ynstr.2026…

Our scientists with over 150 collaborators have released the largest functional map and wiring diagram of the brain to date – seven years in the making. Today’s 1.6 petabyte release marks a historic day for neuroscience. This moonshot milestone will further efforts towards understanding the cortical mechanisms of intelligence. Congratulations to the teams who made this possible.
How does the brain work? Scientists are closer to the answer with the largest wiring diagram and functional map of a mammalian brain to date. 🧵

Withania Somnifera (Ashwagandha) has been used for centuries in Indian traditional medicine as an 'adaptogen' that boosts stress resilience, but the cellular mechanisms and key beneficial bioactives that drive putative neuroprotective effects remain unclear @SashainaEF

So grateful to be a part of the lab. Happy 25 Hutment ❤️🐭
25 years @ Hutment lab - the PFC is fully kicking in now - thank you to all the wonderful people I have been so privileged to work with - this tarpaulin covered hut by the sea has been our safe space and home at TIFR and has seen us through the fair share of storms and joys.

Stop by poster K9 if you’re at #SfN2024 this afternoon if you want to talk about early life adversity and pro social behavior! 🐭 @SfNtweets #neuroscience
Feeling some FOMO for not attending SfN this year but my amazing undergraduate Audrey will be presenting the work I’ve been doing (with lots of her help!) in the Brenhouse lab this past year. 🎉🐀If you’re still around on Wed afternoon, stop by the poster at K9!

🚨Our lab’s first #preprint is out! 🎉 We present QD-Pi (pardon the pun)—a new way to track keypoints in freely moving animals! Check it out ⬇️⬇️⬇️
First paper from the lab biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…! Long story short: @ezeyulu00, @AmartyaPradhan, @DKoveal and I developed a method using injectable nanoparticles to turn mice into…constellations in motion.
