I forgot to retweet my own paper 🙃 but biggest chapter of my PhD came out finally this summer! Interesting results on genetic vs species diversity hotspots, very taxa dependent. MAJOR thank you to @thefraserlab & especially @ericJpedersen again for all the hard work & support!

-Spatial hot coldspots largely unrelated to latitude
-Discordance btw gen diversity species richness
-Only some links with envtal factors; taxonomic diffs

1/4 #Biodiversity hotspots identify regions of conservation priority using spp. richness uniqueness. What if applied to below the species level? Indeed, #extinction risk is often best assessed below species, but usually considered species-by-species only. @KbaCanada @cosewic
