@AndyBurnhamGM @patmcfaddenmp On welfare spending, I have said for some time now that to prevent the system from collapsing the working age benefits system needs to be separated from the pensions system. It is only by doing this that people will better understand the welfare…

A) as we’ve discussed before, you don’t need to quote tweet. B) You know as well as I do that extraordinarily concentrated wealth makes a difference to the lives of everyone in a democracy.

Here’s the thing about GB News. Before it launched, anyone who said it’d be like this was accused of scaremongering. “Our broadcasting rules won’t allow a Fox News in this country!” Yet it’s become an open sewer of conspiratorial bile

Interesting that on @BBCNews a woman (in a focus group for BBC) said she disagrees with a man in same group that “[Robert Kenyon] said these things A LONG TIME AGO” (my highlighting). So by that reasoning we can forget what Hitler said - and did - now. That’s settled then.

OK, this is significant. It appears the alleged Belfast attacker was actually fast-tracked through the asylum process by Suella Braverman and Robert Jenrick. I've just found the following letter from Jenrick to the UK statistical authority on 17 April, 2023 It says: "We are taking urgent action to accelerate decision-making and speed up processing times. We are simplifying and modernising our system, including introducing shorter, more focused interviews; making guidance more accessible; dealing with cases more swiftly where they can be certified as manifestly unfounded; recruiting extra decision makers; and allocating dedicated resources for specific nationalities". uksa.statisticsauthority.gov…

@BBCHughPym @BBCFergusWalsh The @BBCNews claims that nearly 3,000 people a day in the NHS are subject to “corridor care”. True, no-one should be subject to this indignity. In truth though there are 200 A&E departments in the UK. That means roughly 15 people per day…

Watching Dating Naked UK on @Channel4 Player. Not sure this one will see another series, it feels like just another excuse to get young, impressionable wannabes naked. It’s not helped by all the contestants being so young (there should be a wider spread of ages), and the…
