people across the political spectrum converge on some form of 'soft' race science because they're inheriting ideological frameworks around race from people who functionally believed in it while recognizing that not having a framework of race today is unsustainable.
Completely wild that I see people earnestly discussing the benefits and drawbacks of race science. Horrible world

I'd like to add a slight caveat of marriage and immigration laws that 100% also affect ace people in relationships. Laws that are intrusive and question actions in the bedroom are still on the books
people aren't gonna like this but a lot of the real world oppression aspec people face comes from not engaging in relationships, things like next of kin when you're not married, it being more expensive to live along and even corrective rape against those who say no to -1

What makes me upset is the lack of understanding that no one is being ostracized for allonormativity (minus queer sexual/romantic orientations of course).
“They can still date” of course, but that’s the norm. That’s not what aro/ace people get alienated for.
Kinda annoys me just a little that ANYTIME an asexual / aromatic character is represented without having a partner or participating in romance / sex, a wave of people go

there are aromantic & asexual people who do engage in romantic/sexual relationships, but i dislike how allos as of late only put a focus on them to the point that every time the rest of us who lack attraction/interest in sex, etc. are represented, we're viewed as "stereotypes."
