Incredible work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Last night I used 4 cameras to capture the ultimate HDR view of the lunar eclipse This 300GB image shows the lunar surface in extreme detail, while revealing all rich color that was projected onto the surface See the full res crop or get a print in the reply to this post

I’d like to reemphasize this. The dust you see is not settling. It is still going uphill when it flies over the horizon and out of view. It is like a rocket that has curved below the horizon but is still climbing. If you get this, it makes sense why it clears the view so fast. /1

Imagine an exoplanet with a mountain range so immense that it extends into space: Do you think such a planet exists in the Universe?

Houston, we have a new spacesuit. At the #IAC2024 in Milan, @Axiom_Space unveiled the flight design of its lunar spacesuit that @NASA_Astronauts will wear during the #Artemis III mission when they set foot on the Moon for the first time in over 50 years.

On the eve of the Starship test flight, a reminder of why full reusability is a game changer for access to space... While the industry is following the red line, SpaceX is on a different curve. Note: a straight line is an exponential on this semi-log graph.

CO2!! Just add water and some electrolysis and we have another place in the solar system where we can make rocket fuel for #Starship!

Space is BIG
That's a blowtorch of energy blasting out of a giant black hole, 3,000-light-years-long. When it hits nearby stars it makes them erupt into novae. info: tinyurl.com/2v8hpja2 image: @NASAHubble

BREAKING: Asteroid 2024 PT5 to Become Earth's Mini-Moon Asteroid 2024 PT5, discovered August 7, will become a "mini-moon" from September 29 to November 25, 2024. The 10-meter NEO will be temporarily captured by Earth's gravity but won't complete a full orbit before returning to its solar path.

In the lunar phase calendar, the New Moon is the first of four major phases…but beginning this weekend, we will actually get a new moon! Essentially, Earth’s gravity captures an asteroid passing by our planet, which becomes a small moon for a temporary period. In this case, 2024 PT5, which is from the Arjuna asteroid belt, will remain with us for roughly two months before leaving orbit and moving on. The science of these “mini-moons” is quite interesting and they occur fairly frequently!
