Almost 20,000 Ontario students couldn’t attend school last year, because of a lack of special education supports. @OntAutism tells us the situation will worsen without school trustees: “it would be a devastating loss for the community. All students have a right to an education.”

What’s really at stake if Ford eliminates school trustees? Trustees aren’t symbolic — they are a lifeline for MANY Ontario families. In the 2024–25 school year alone, trustees helped more than 102,000 children and youth with disabilities access the supports they needed in school. Yet too many are still being left behind: the @OntAutism’s latest survey found that at least 19,000 students with disabilities missed school altogether last year, when they had every right to be in the classroom! Families rely on trustees to advocate, hold schools accountable, and make sure students with special needs aren’t silenced or excluded.
