#AskingAutistics Are you going to #Autscape this summer? Did you go in the past? How was the experience? Would you recommend it to other #ActuallyAutistic people?

I credited #JudySinger with coining the term ‘neurodiversity’ in error. I have found evidence that the #neurodiversity concept was fully formed on my online autistic-run group ‘InLv’ as early as October 1996, well before Singer's 1998 thesis. inlv.org/2023/07/13/neurodiv…

Too often, people talk about whether their doctor 'let them' (not) do things. Everywhere I know, unless you are deemed to lack capacity to make your own decisions, you, the patient, let *them* do any test, measurement, or treatment to you (or not), not the other way around.

I had my 3rd tribunal sitting today. The judge was really interested in my inertia research and would like me to write an article for their newsletter. If a few tribunal members were more aware, that could help ND people to be believed when they talk about problems 'doing stuff'.

My son decided to grow his hair long about 3 years ago.

He decided it would be good to have it short again in time to start high school. He’s #ActuallyAutistic and no fan of change, but he’s also refreshingly relaxed about material things, even his own hair.

The proceeds have gone to @LPTrustUK to make a wig for a child with cancer. Hope it’s useful. 🤞

Abridged conversation with Apple Support over the last three weeks: In web chat: Apple: We need to speak to you on the phone about this issue. Me: I can’t speak on the phone because of a disability. Apple: We can’t provide this type of support by chat, we need to talk to you.
