Where does border security begin and end? For most people, it's the checkpoint – the gate, the scanner, the officer. But the real picture is far more complex. It involves a huge amount of data that border agencies must capture, manage and act on in near-real-time. Our new paper, 'Border security beyond the checkpoint', looks at what modern border operations require: •Smarter data exploitation across fragmented systems and multiple entry points •Risk analytics that help decision-makers identify threats before they escalate •AI-enabled technologies spanning digital, maritime and subsea domains Plus, a look ahead at what the border of the future could look like. Today more than ever, the UK's Critical National Infrastructure is a prime target for threat actors looking to exploit their growing level of interconnectivity. It's therefore no surprise that the government is taking steps to help drive resilience across the UK's CNI ecosystem. Cross domain solutions can support this resilience in three powerful ways: ✅ Stopping attackers moving freely across interconnected systems ✅ Providing a guardrail against infected data ✅ Enabling wider digital transformation It's for these reasons that the value of cross domain can't be overstated. We explore how these capabilities safeguard public trust and ensure operational continuity in our latest article ➡️ baes.co/jYh350Z9QpZ #NationalSecurity #CyberSecurity #CNI #CrossDomain #CNIResilience

Digital capability isn’t optional in defence, it’s mission critical. In our latest Power of Perspective blog, Hannah Green, Head of Product Delivery, Defence at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, shares how we’re helping armed forces tackle one of their biggest challenges: managing the immense complexity of modern military assets. From supporting 50-year lifecycles to transforming manual processes into intelligent digital workflows, solutions like PropheSEA® are turning complexity into clarity, saving thousands of hours and accelerating operational readiness when it matters most. A powerful example? During a ship flooding incident, digital tools enabled rapid analysis of vast data sets, speeding up recovery and getting the vessel back to sea faster: baesystems.com/en-uk/insight…

Today's border staff are under huge pressure to make fast, informed decisions - balancing national security, economic growth and public trust, often in real time and during periods of heightened threat. With passenger and freight data increasing at scale, modern analytics can help teams assess risk earlier, spot patterns that may otherwise remain hidden and prioritise resources more effectively - with principles long used in financial services having a role to play in strengthening border security. Last week, we had the pleasure of hosting the British Computer Society Defence Special Interest Group (DSIG) for a symposium on the topic of “connecting the space and cyber domains”. Led by UK Space Command and hosted by our Strategic Investments Director, Chris Cook, the event brought together industry and government experts to discuss a range of topics including: •The British space endeavour •Cyber and electromagnetic threats to space assets •Early career experiences in the IT and space industries •Cyber vulnerabilities of space systems It was brilliant to be able to bring the DSIG members together and help build this important community of those with an interest in digital defence. #SpaceThreats #CyberThreats #SpaceDomain #DigitalDefence

Two months of integration. Four locations. 12 organisations. 50 BAE Systems personnel. Working with a consortium of strategic organisations, we recently delivered a complex, multi-region Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) technical demonstration for the Royal Navy aligned to the UK MOD's Atlantic Bastion programme. The demonstration proved the operational capability of our end-to-end #ASW solution, showcasing our credentials as a trusted mission partner that can support timely and effective decision-making in the underwater battlespace. Key achievements included: ✅ Rapid sensor deployment from an uncrewed air vehicle ✅ Trusted data fusion across a multinational operation ✅ Sub-one-hour processing from data capture to exploitable outputs Read the full details of the demo in our latest blog ➡️ baes.co/hpbX50Z1HyV #SubseaDefence #AtlanticBastion #UnderwaterBattlespace

“Connectivity can’t just be a collection of radios and links anymore. It has to become a mission fabric – something resilient, adaptive, and designed to keep decision making coherent even when the environment is anything but.” In his latest blog, Mark Todd, Innovation and Technology Director, BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, takes a look at why military connectivity can fail, why slow tech adaptation is a strategic liability, and why a #Digital Targeting Web offers a step forwards. As we prepare to wrap up at Space Comm Expo, here are a few shots from this year’s event. Given the current geopolitical and economic climate, a recurring theme across the show for us was the discussion around how we can deepen international collaboration to achieve national security and defence objectives. This year there was plenty of live action from our experts. ✅ Chief Technology Officer Tony Holt took the stage to discuss how we can ensure national security through international collaboration. This session looked at how we can strengthen collective security in the space domain. ✅ Tony was then joined by other leaders from across the space ecosystem, including Allen Antrobus of PA Consulting, Victoria Cope of Defence Digital, Kata Escott of Airbus Defence & Space UK, Major General Paul Tedman CBE, Commander of United Kingdom Space Command, and Steve Young of ICEYE. The group discussed ‘Securing Space Assets and Strategic Stability’, looking at the militarisation of space and the opportunity for coordinated defence strategies. Thank you to everyone who engaged with us and we look forward to continuing the conversation. Learn more about our Space capabilities here ➡️ baes.co/9oTF50YpI66 #Space #SpaceCommEurope
