And now we’re hearing from Catherine Burton who works as an Ecological Lead for SYSTRA. Catherine says she got into ecology because “basically I was born with eco-anxiety! As a teenager I couldn’t think of working in anything else.”

Chris asks Catherine what led her to consultancy. “Academia was full of short term contracts and I needed something a bit more permanent. You could basically get paid for biological recording. It was a more stable career option”.
